Observation Of Acupotomy Touching In Piriformis Syndrome

Background:piriformis syndrome(PS)is due to piriformis acute and chronic injury caused by piriformis edema,spasm,hypertrophy and other stimuli or oppression of the sciatic nerve or other sacral plexus and produce a series of symptoms of the syndrome.There are many different treatments in traditional Chinese and Western medicine,mainly divided into non-surgical therapy and surgical therapy.Non-surgical therapy has the shortcomings of slow effect and high recurrence rate.Although surgery can relieve pressure,it has the anesthesia risk and high costs.Acupotomy therapy in the treatment of piriformis syndrome in clinical efficacy is efficient.We perform acupotomy touching in piriformis syndrome,which provides the clinical basis.Objective:observe the effect of acupotomy touching in piriformis syndrome,visual analogue scale(VAS)and Oswestry dysfunction index(ODI)of patients with piriformis syndrome.Explore the safety and effectiveness of acupotomy touching.By analyzing the theory of acupotomy touching in piriformis syndrome,it can enrich the clinical treatment of piriformis syndrome and improve the life quality.Method:78 patients are recruited from January 2016 to December 2016 in Nanjing Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Department of Pain Division,Jiangsu Province,Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital acupotomy outpatient diagnosis of piriformis syndrome.Pre-serial number 1-78,ascending the order of random numbers with a completely random method 1-78 grouping,divided into two groups,acupotomy touching group and acupuncture group.Each group has 39 cases.The acupotomy touching group is 5 days a time,3 times for a course of treatment.The acupuncture group is 2 days a time,5times for a course of treatment.Record the observation before and after treatment.Efficacy observation and evaluation criteria is used visual analogue scale(VAS),Oswestry dysfunction index(ODI),and SPASS20.0 software for statistical analysis.Result:1.Acupotomy touching in piriformis syndrome can significantly improve the clinical symptoms and signs of piriformis syndrome.The difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).2.The visual analogue scale shows the acupotomy touching group is superior to the acupuncture group after treatment.The difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Owestwest dysfunction index questionnaire shows the acupotomy touching group is superior to the acupuncture group after treatment.The difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Acupotomy touching in piriformis syndrome is superior to traditional acupuncture.2.In the process of clinical treatment,the two groups of patients did not appear nerve injury,hematoma and adverse reactions,indicating that acupuncture and acupotomy touching in the clinical application are safe and reliable.3.In the case of piriform muscle syndrome,the lesion of the soft tissue that is represented by the piriform muscle syndrome,and the disease that is characterized by the compression of the nervous system,is suitable for the use of the needle contact in the clinic.
