Clinical Study Of "Zhizhu Tongbian Pills" On The Constipation Caused By 5-HT₃ Receptor Antagonist In Malignant Tumor Patients

Objective: To observe the curative effect of "Zhizhu Tongbian Pills" on the constipation caused by 5-HT3 receptor antagonist during the course of chemotherapy in patients with malignant tumor,then lay the foundation for further research and application in the future.Methods: Using a randomized controlled approach,60 patients who met the inclusion criteria and came from Department of Oncology in Hospital(T.C.M)Affiliated to Southwest Medical University were randomly divided into the experimental group(Zhizhu Tongbian Pills group)which had 30 cases and the control group(Lactulose Oral Solution group)which had 30 cases.On the third day to the fifth day of each chemotherapy session,the experimental group took the "Zhizhu Tongbian Pills",5g/bag,1bag/time,1time/day,with warm water,10 am.On the third day to the fifth day of each chemotherapy session,the control group took Lactulose Oral Solution,15ml/time,3times/day,after meals.In the experimental group and the control group,the curative effect of symptoms of constipation,constipation associated with symptoms,Karnofsky functional status and safety indicators were observed and discussed before and after the treatment.The spss software was used for statistical analysis,then made a conclusion.Results: In the 60 eligible cases,58 completed the study,of which the experimental group and the control group were off 1 case,the experimental group was 29 cases and the control group was 29 cases.1.Contrast before and after their own:(1)After treatment,the total score of constipation symptom,the total score of constipation associated with symptoms and the score of Karnofsky functional status of the experimental group were significantly different(P<0.05);(2)There were significant differences(P<0.05)in the total score of constipation symptom,the score of Karnofsky functional status of the control group after treatment.but there was no significant difference(P>0.05)in the total score of constipation associated with symptoms.The results showed that the two groups both had curative effect on constipation caused by 5-HT3 receptor antagonist and could improve Karnofsky functional status in the treatment of malignant tumor patients,the experimental group could also effectively improve the symptoms associated with constipation,while the control group had no significant difference.2.Comparison between the two groups:(1)After treatment,the score of symptoms of constipation in the experimental group was 5.00±1.98 points,the score of symptoms of constipation in the control group was 6.28±2.07 points.The remission rate of constipation was 93.10% in the experimental group,which was higher than that in the control group(86.20%).The overall curative effect of constipation was better than that of the control group(P<0.05).(2)After treatment,the score of constipation associated with symptoms in the experimental group was 1.97±1.43 points,the score of constipation associated with symptoms in the control group was 5.10±1.95 points.The remission rate of constipation associated with symptoms was 93.10% in the experimental group,which was significantly higher than that in the control group(51.72%).The overall curative effect of constipation associated with symptoms was better than that of the control group(P <0.05).(3)After treatment,the score of Karnofsky functional status in the experimental group was 88.28±5.39,the score of Karnofsky functional status in the control group was 83.45±7.21.The improvement of Karnofsky functional status in the experimental group was also better than that in the control group(P <0.05).Conclusion: "Zhizhu Tongbian pill" in the course of chemotherapy in malignant tumor patients using 5-HT3 receptor antagonist-induced constipation showed a significant effect,could effectively relieve the symptoms of constipation,constipation associated with symptoms and improve the situation of Karnofsky functional status,and not influence the curative effect of 5-HT3 receptor antagonist,not see significant adverse reactions,and safety of treatment was good,it is worth further research and application.
