Abstract/Summary:
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of Mindfullness-Based Stress Reduction(MBSR)on Posttraumatic Growth(PTG),fatigue, and sleep quality in patients with nonHodgkin’s lymphoma. Methods 96 patients with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma were enrolled in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from November 2015 to April 2016,and were assigned to 8 weeks of MBSR intervention group(n = 48)or routine care group(n = 48).The control group received routine nursing care in the hospital. The intervention group carried out a total of eight times a week on the basis of routine nursing. The Postpraumatic Growth Inventory(PTGI),Piper’s fatigue scale(PFS-R),Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)(T1),intervention(T2)and 3 months after intervention(T3)to assess the effect of intervention.Entering data was performed using Excel2016 data.SPSS18.0 was used for statistical analysis. The mean and standard deviation of the measurement data were used. The frequency and percentage(n%)of the count data were used. The t-test or χ2 test was used to compare the two sets of baseline data.Repeated measurement of variance analysis was performed to compare the differences between the two groups. The effect of the test intervention was Cohen’s D.Results 1)In this study,96 patients with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma were treated with the first chemotherapy of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria.Finally,91 valid samples were obtained for all the results. The rate of completion was 94.8%.2)There was no significant difference between the two groups before the intervention. After 8 weeks of intervention:(1)The total score of PTGI in both groups increased, and the interaction effect of PTGI total time effect and time group was statistically significant(P<0.001).However,the new likelihood(F=3.57,P=0.05),mental changes(F = 2.43,P=0.11)had no group effect as well as group and time interaction.(2)Repeated measurement of variance analysis showed that the main effect of sensory aspects, behavioral aspects, emotional aspects and total fatigue score in the experimental and control groups was statistically significant(P <0.05).Sensory aspects, emotional aspects, behavioral aspects, and total fatigue scores were interfered with time factors(P <0.05).(3)The difference of sleep quality, sleep time, sleep time, sleep efficiency and sleep score was statistically significant(P <0.05).There was significant difference in sleep quality, sleep time, sleep time and sleep time(P <0.05).The difference of sleep quality, sleep time, sleep disorder and sleep total score was statistically significant.3)At the end of the intervention,Cohen’s D <0.5 and the rest were greater than 0.5 in the intervention group, indicating that the 8-week MBSR interventions were able to achieve moderate and middle effects of each variable at the end of the intervention.4)Intervention after 3 months, personal strength, appreciation of life, behavior, daytime dysfunction Cohen’s D>0.5,interventions lasting effect for moderate, relationship with others, sensory aspects, emotional aspects, total fatigue, sleep Quality, sleep time, sleep efficiency, and sleep time were significant,Cohen’s D was greater than 1.2,and the PTGI total intervention effect was significant,Cohen’s D was 2.0.Conclusions 8 weeks of MBSR intervention and efficacy evaluation showed that as a non-drug treatment method can effectively promote non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma patients after traumatic growth, reduce fatigue during chemotherapy, improve sleep quality. And in a long time(3 months)sustained effect is very large.Patients who actively accept MBSR intervention can benefit from a lot.
