| BACKGROUND: The use of conventional hemorrhoidectomy for the treatment of hemorrhoids has a significant morbidity, the main manifestation of postoperative pain and daily activities of the delay.Doppler-guided hemorrhoid arterial ligation is the treatment of hemorrhoids minimally invasive surgery, and can reduce the patient’s inconvenience.OBJECTIVE: To analyze the correlation between the initial results of Doppler-guided hemorrhoidal artery ligation and rectal mucosa in the treatment of hemorrhoids.METHODS: From December 2015 to August 2016,84 patients treated with Doppler-guided haemorrhagic artery ligation(DGHAL)were analyzed.Patients included stage II,stage III,and stage IV hemorrhoids.Twenty-two patients(26%)were stage II;42patients(50%)were stage III;and 20 patients(24%)were stage IV hemorrhoids. All patients were operated by the same surgeon under the spinal anesthesia using the same equipment and techniques. The 84 patients underwent continuous suture rectal mucosal ligation of 6 arterial branches.Eighteen patients required simultaneous removal of perianal fat. After surgery, the following parameters were evaluated: pain, falling sensation, bleeding, pruritus, prolapse, mucus discharge and recurrence. The mean follow-up period was 4months.Results: 85.7% of the patients complained of a falling feeling, followed by 28.6%of pain,12.3% of anus, and 4.7% of mucous secretion and perianal hematoma. Two patients had severe postoperative bleeding, requiring surgery to stop bleeding, and one needed a blood transfusion.95% of patients expressed satisfaction with this procedure.CONCLUSIONS: Although DGHAL has complications similar to those of other surgical procedures, the results show less postoperative pain, faster recovery and recovery.More cases and longer follow-up studies are needed to assess late recurrence. |
