ObjectiveTo study clinical effects of sensory disturbance after stroke by Tongue acupuncture, and also to evaluate the superiority of tongue acupuncture in treatment of sensory disturbance after stroke, and to provide clinical evidence for the treatment of sensory disturbance after stroke.MethodsIn this study,70 cases of eligible subjects were randomly divided into two groups:the treatment group(the tongue acupuncture combined with conventional acupuncture group)and the control group(the conventional acupuncture group),each group of 35 cases. In the control group, the acupoint selection of the stroke disease part in the study of acupuncture and moxibustion by Xu Heng-ze was used, which included LI-15,LI-11,LI-10,LI-4,SJ-5,GB-30,ST-36,GB-34,ST-41,BL-60 points. On the basis of the conventional acupuncture, the treatment group adopted the acupoint selection of cerebrovascular accident part in Practical Tongue Needle by Sun Jie-guang:Main point:Bizhong,Naoling,Naozhong,Naoyuan,Jingxue,Xinxue.Matching acupoint:Sublingual swelling area, sublingual node, abnormal color reaction point. The two groups were treated once a day.6 times is a course. There was 1 day off between the two course of treatment. The curative effect of the two groups were evaluated at the start of treatment, after the sixth therapy and at the end of treatment(after the twelfth therapy). The sensory disturbance assessment score(the Improved Fugl-Meyer and Lindmark evaluation)was used to assess the condition of sensory function. The Fugl-meyer motor scale was used to assess motor function. The daily living ability was assessed by the modified Barthel Index Scale(MBI).Results(?)Comparing the general baseline condition of the two groups, such as gender, age, disease duration, and the scores of the Improved Fugl-Meyer an d Lindmark evaluation,Fugl-meyer motor scale and MBI before treatment(P>0.05),we find the baseline characteristics of the two groups were eve nly distributed and comparable.(?)Effect analysis:1.Group comparison:Comparing the sensory disturbance assessment score,Fugl-meyer motor scale and MBI scale at the start of treatment, after the sixth therapy and after the twelfth therapy, statistics show that the effect of the sixth therapy was better than that of before therapy(P<0.001),the effect of the twelfth therapy was better than that of the sixth therapy(P<0.001),and the effect of the twelfth therapy was better than that of before therapy(P<0.001).It is suggested that two acupuncture treatments in improving sensory disturbances, motor function and the ability of daily life have the exact effect.2.Intra-group comparison:Comparing the sensory disturbance assessment score, the effect of the treatment group in improving the sensory function was better than the control group after the sixth therapy and after the twelfth therapy.Comparing the Fugl-meyer motor scale, the effect of the treatment group in improving motor function was better than the control group after the sixth therapy and after the twelfth therapy.Comparing the MBI score, the effect of the treatment group in improving daily living ability was better than the control group after the sixth therapy and after the twelfth therapy. It is suggested that tongue acupuncture combined with conventional acupuncture group(the treatment group)in improving the sensory disturbance, motor function and daily living ability was far superior than that of the conventional acupuncture group(the control group). The tongue acupuncture in improving the sensory disturbance, motor function and daily living ability have a certain effect.ConclusionBoth tongue acupuncture and conventional acupuncture can significantly improve the sensory disturbance, motor function and daily living ability of patients with sensory disturbances after stroke.Tongue acupuncture combined with conventional body acupuncture is more effective than conventional acupuncture in improving the sensory disturbance, motor function and daily living ability.
