Objectives The study was to investigate the status of general mental health status of Jinan Institutional Population.And the study was to further explore its influencing factors.The results of the investigation would provide a theoretical basis for Institutional Population managers who will formulate a special strategy of support for Institutional Population in order to improve the general mental health status.Methods Subjects were selected from a convenience sample that Institutional Population during July in 2015 to September in 2015 from a tertiary hospital in Jinan,Shandong province.The study conducted the questionnaire survey by questionnaire.The questionnaires included two parts:the general information questionnaire,the Kessler 10 scale.Using SPSS 21.0 statistical software for data entry and analysis.Results A total of 1350 persons were investigated by questionnaire survey and 1296(96.0%)effective questionnaire have been got.Detailed information was as follows:1.The Kessler10 scale score was 13:59±4.347;Of which,Institutional Population in good condition of mental health status(the Kessler10 scale score was 15 points or less)was 1007,accounting for 77.6%of the total number of respondents.Institutional Population who were not good enough in mental health status(the Kessler10 scale score was more than 15 points)was 1007,accounting for 22.4%of the total number of respondents.2.The difference between age,religion,physical exercise,sleep status,self-reported physical health,self-reported mental health,medication history,childhood life evaluation,whether to have unhappy childhood experience,whether to have unpleasant experience in teens,change of life quality In recent year,suicide ideation in recent year and the Kessler10 scale scores was statistically significant.(P<0.05)3.Correlation analysis showed that unhealthy lifestyles and the Kessler10 scale scores were positively correlated(P<0.05).The correlation coefficient r = 0.181.4.The KesslerlO scale scores were as the dependent variable,and the binary Logistic regression analysis results show that the significant variables including age(OR=0.710,P<0.001),physical exercise(OR = 1.255,P = 1.255),self-reported mental health(OR = 2.103,P<0.001),childhood evaluation(OR = 1.359,P = 1.359),suicide ideation in recent year(OR = 3.758,P<0.001).Conclusion1.The Kessler10 scale scores of institutional population belong to the normal range,and the general proportion of people with poor mental health status is also consistent with normal adult norm.Therefore,our country institutional population’s general mental health was in good condition.2.Main factors influencing general mental health status of institutional population were age,religion,physical exercise,sleep status,self-reported physical health,self-reported mental health,medication history,childhood life evaluation,whether to have unhappy childhood experience,whether to have unpleasant experience in teens,change of life quality In recent year,suicide ideation in recent year.3.Health risk behavior score and the Kessler10 scale score was significantly positively related.The higher level of health risk behavior score,the poorer level of general mental health status in institutional population.4.Age is a protection factor of the general mental health status in institutional population.Exercise less,self-reported mental health,childhood life evaluation,suicide ideation in recent year were risk factors.
