ObjectsThrough the research and analysis of health life expectancy of residents in Taicang,we want to provide a new index for evaluating the health level of Taicang residents, and we can also provide policy support for the focus of the work and the allocation of resources to the health department.Subjects and methodsUsing the existing data resources of Taicang health department and the special investigation carried out in 2014,to obtain the index of health prevalence level about health life expectancy(proportion of good perceived health, health proportion of disability-free,health proportion without chronic morbidity).Sullivan method was used to estimate health life expectancy of residents in Taicang. Results 1 In 2013,health life expectancy, life expectancy in good perceived health,disability-free life expectancy and life expectancy without chronic morbidity at birth for residents in Taicang was 59.82 years old,73.01 years old,77.60 years old and63.97 years old.2 Overall, the self-rated health proportion and the disability-free health proportion of male were higher than that of female, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the health proportion of no chronic morbidity of female was higher than that of male, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);there was no significant difference in the proportion of full health(P>0.05).The differences between the proportion of self rated health,disability-free health,no chronic morbidity health and full health in each age group were all statistically significant(P<0.05).3 Male’s life expectancy in good perceived health in each age group were higher than female’s except the age group of 85-;female’s disability-free life expectancy, life expectancy without chronic morbidity in each age group were higher than that of male5s.Male’s proportion of life expectancy in good perceived health and disability-free life expectancy in each age group were higher than that of female’s,while the proportion of female’s life expectancy without chronic morbidity in life expectancy was higher than that of male’s.In 2013,health life expectancy in each age group for female residents in Taicang were higher than male. The proportion of male’s health life expectancy in life expectancy was higher than that of female’s except the age group of 80-and 85-.The absolute value of life expectancy in good perceived health,disability-free life expectancy, life expectancy without chronic morbidity and health life expectancy showed a downward trend with the increasing of the age,as same as the proportion in life expectancy.4 The value of life expectancy in good perceived health,disability-free life expectancy and life expectancy without chronic morbidity were lower than life expectancy, but higher than health life expectancy. The lowest was life expectancy without chronic morbidity, while the highest was disability-free life expectancy.Conclusion1 The quality of life for the residents in Taicang decreased with age.The absolute value of health life expectancy and the proportion in life expectancy showed a downward trend with the increasing of the age.2 Female’s life expectancy, healthy life expectancy,disability-free life expectancy, life expectancy without chronic morbidity in each age group were higher than that of male’s,but life expectancy in good perceived health were lower than male except the age group of 85-.3 The value of life expectancy in good perceived health,disability-free life expectancy and life expectancy without chronic morbidity were lower than life expectancy, but higher than health life expectancy. The lowest was life expectancy without chronic morbidity, while the highest was disability-free life expectancy.
