Objectives:To study investigation on health status of ICU nurses in the first classified 3A comprehensive hospital in Changchun City,Jilin Province.Exploring the relevant factors influencing ICU nurses' health, and to provide scientific basis for the development of hospital nurses' disease prevention and psychological counseling. Method:109 ICU nurses in the first classified 3A comprehensive hospital in Changchun City, Jilin Province were selected as subjects. Self-designed "ICU nurses' health status and life style questionnaire" were used for questionnaire survey. The descriptive statistical analysis, ?2 test, t test and other statistical analysis was applied to analysis of the health status of ICU nurses. Results:1. The general survey of ICU nurses in the first classified 3A comprehensive hospital showed: the sex composition of IUC nurses was mainly female, 104(96.3%) were female and 4(3.7%) were male. ICU nurses in the 20-30 age group was 67(62.0%) which tends to younger; 97%(89.8%) of the Han nationality, 11(10.2%) of the ethnic minorities; the overall educational level was higher, the college degree 41(38.0%), undergraduate 64(59.3%) graduate students 2(1.9%), secondary 1(0.9%); 51(47.2%) were married, 57 were unmarried(52.8%); monthly income of 1,000 to 2,500 yuan is 31(28.7%),2,500 to 5,000 yuan is 55(50.9%), 5,000 yuan is 4(3.7%) and 18(16.7%) is to non-income.2. The health status survey of ICU nurses in the first classified 3A comprehensive hospital showed: insomnia and dream were 67(62.0%), night sweats were 31(28.7%), susceptible to colds were 91(84.3%),be not interesting in the surroundings was 88(81.5%), feeling decrease in their vitality was 95(88.9%), feeling distraught was 72(66.7%), feeling their inability to concentrate was 83(76.9%); 22(20.4%) and 76(70.4%) were suffering from bronchopathy and ulcer disease, 13(12.0%) had hypertension, 15(13.9%) had coronary heart disease, 5(4.6%) had diabetes, 4(3.7%) had kidney disease, 7(6.5%) had hepatitis. The number of normal systolic blood pressure was 55(50.9%), abnormal 53(49.1%); The number of diastolic blood pressure normal was 53(49.1%), abnormal was 55(50.9%); TG normal was 79(73.1%), abnormal was 29(26.9%); LDL normal was 83(76.9%), abnormal was 25(23.1%); HDL normal was 83(76.9%), abnormal was 25(23.1%); creatinine normal renal function was 87(80.6%),abnormal was 21(19.4%)The number of blood urea nitrogen normal was 92(85.2%), abnormal was16(14.8%); the number of hemoglobin normal was 90(83.3%), abnormal was 18(16.7%); the number of red blood cells norma lwas 93(86.1%), abnormal was 15(13.9%);The number of normal white cells was 88(81.5%), abnormal was 20(18.5%); neutrophils proportion normal were 89(82.4%), abnormal were19(17.6%); normal lymphocytes proportion were 92(85.2%) and abnormal were 16(14.8%).3. The living habits survey of ICU nurses in the first classified 3A comprehensive hospital showed:the main food selecting rice was 95 people(88.0%); ate staple food more than 0.2kg was 67 people(62.0%); Often eating fruit 42(38.9%); often eating vegetables 48(44.4%); often eating meat 36(33.3%); sometimes eating fish 67(62.0%);(44.7%);sometimes eating eggs51 were(47.2%); sometimes eating soybeans were 44(40.7%); smokers were48(44.4%); regular drinkers were 58(53.7%);The frequency of night shift more than five times was 95(88.0%).4. According to the WHOQOL-BREF, ICU nurses overall quality of life was no statistical significance(p> 0.05),ICU nurses' gender, educational level and environment The difference of sex, education degree and environment of ICU nurses was statistical significance(p <0.05).5. The average score of anxiety scale and depression scale were 50.50 ± 10.31 and 53.65 ± 12.14. the anxiety form moderate to severe were 20(18.52%), and the depression form moderate to severe were 18(16.7%). gender, educational level, income, marital status and duty frequency with or without anxiety and depressive symptoms were no statistical significance(p> 0.05). Conclusions:1. ICU nurses in the 20-30 age group is the largest number which tends to younger, mainly to the Han nationality, the overall have high level of education, monthly income mostly is concentrated in the 2500 to 5000 yuan.2. ICU nurses are not optimistic about the health status, showing typical symptoms of Sub-Health, for example high blood pressure, low blood sugar, high blood lipids, renal function and blood component abnormalities.3. The irregular lifestyle of diet, fruits and vegetables may affect the ICU nurse's physical condition.4. The quality of life that ICU nurses overall have is low, education and gender may affect the ICU nurses quality of life.5. ICU nurses have different level of anxiety or depression symptoms, and younger nurses mostly have depression than older nurses.
