Clinical Research On Root Sciatica Treatment By Dong's Extra And Corresponding Traction Needle

ObjectiveSciatica is very common in clinical,and it has the highest incidence in all neuropathic pain diseases.Research shows that sciatica patients pain for more than one year,more than sixty percent of them has residual disability.Sciatica brings seriously effect to the patients' quality of life.Sciatica has no specific treatment currently,doctors generally treat according to the cause of disease and by the symptom.Now,many of the medical staff use many methods of traditional Chinese medicine therapy as acupuncture,massage,ear-point therapy to treat sciatica,and they all have obvious curative effect.Western medicine treatment of sciatica has drugs and surgical treatment This study used randomized controlled study of small sample,and aimed to observe the clinical research on using conventional acupuncture and traction needle combined with acupuncture of Taibai and Linggu of Dong' s extra acupoints,and to explore the mechanism and new methods for the treatment of sciatica.MethodsThis study selected sixty root sciatica patients(Qi-stagnation and blood stasis Type)which are accordance with the inclusion criteria,and randomly assigned them to the treatment group and the control group.The treatment group used traction needle combined with acupuncture of Taibai and Linggu of Dong's extra acupoints,and the control group used conventional acupuncture.All the patients came from South East Asia Burma Chinese Medicine Acupuncture Clinic from June 2015 to April 2016.A course of treatment included five times.This study continued two weeks and included two courses.Every time,before and after treatment,we observed patients' clinical symptoms,and we used VAS scale and BRS-6 scale to evaluate the pain of root sciatica patients,and we made a concrete analysis of curative effect about the results.Finally,we took SPSS20.0 software to processing data.ResultsThe treatment group used traction needle combined with acupuncture of Taibai and Linggu of Dong's extra acupoints,and the control group used conventional acupuncture.They both had thirty patients,and all cases did not lose during the course.The difference of gender,age and course of the disease between the treatment group and the control group had no statistical significance,it meant two data of different groups were semblable.Before the treatment,the treatment group and the control group had no statistical significance in VAS scale scores and BRS-6 scale scores,it meant two data of different groups were semblable in VAS scale and BRS-6 scale.After the treatment,the VAS scale scores and BRS-6 scale scores of the treatment group and the control group had significant change.It prompted that the two groups could reduce pain symptoms of root sciatica patients(Qi-stagnation and blood stasis Type).Traction needle combined with acupuncture of Taibai and Linggu of Dong's extra acupoints can reduce pain symptoms of root sciatica.The conventional acupuncture could also reduce pain symptoms of root sciatica.After the treatment,the VAS scale scores and BRS-6 scale scores of the treatment group changed not significant of the control group.It meant that the curative effect of the traction needle combined with acupuncture of Taibai and Linggu of Dong's extra group and the conventional acupuncture group were not significant different.According to curative effect evaluation standard,after the treatment,18 patients were clinical recovery,10 patients had marked effect and 2 patient had no effect and the healing rate is 93.33%in the treatment group;In the control group,16 patients were clinical recovery,10 patients were markedly effective and 4 patients had no effect,and the healing rate was 86.67%.Comparing the curative effect of the two groups by Ridit analysis,there was no statistically significant difference in them.It meant that the curative effect of the traction needle combined with acupuncture of Taibai and Linggu of Dong' s extra group and the conventional acupuncture group were no significant difference.ConlusionThis study demonstrates that the traction needle combined with acupuncture of Taibai and Linggu of Dong' s extra has curative effect in treating root sciatica patients(Qi-stagnation and blood stasis Type).But the curative effect of the traction needle combined with acupuncture of Taibai and Linggu of Dong's extra and the conventional acupuncture were no significant different.
