Objective1.The understanding of "toxic" in ancient and modern Chinese medicine literature was systematically summarized and sorted out, to make an interpretation of the theoretical connotation of "toxic" of Chinese medicine in a comprehensive and systematic way. The value of "toxic" in basic theory of Chinese medicine and clinical practice was illustrated, which have provided a theoretical and practical basis of "treatment from toxic" for Chinese medicine.2. In clinical trials, we took common cold (syndrome of qi deficiency and evil invasion) as an example with the method of tonifying qi by detoxification, to observe the clinical efficacy of treating common cold with modified Ganduqing granules that were formula variation in accordance with signs, and to effect on human beta defense-2 (H?D-2), which further have confirmed the efficacy of Ganduqing granules to treat common cold. From the viewpoint of tonifying qi by detoxification, we put forward a new thought of prevention and treatment of common cold, and furnished scientific evidence on "preventive treatment of disease" and individualized therapy of common cold.Methods1.Theoretical research methods:in theoretical research, starting from three elements of "understanding, interpretation and application" of Chinese medicine hermeneutics, we used research methods of Chinese medicine literature to sort out the theoretical connotation of "toxic" in Chinese medicine literature of past dynasties. We summarized up details about "toxic", which included the concept, etiology, pathogenesis and treatment in Chinese medicine and the concrete contents in modern research.2.Application research methods:in application research, we used a randomized controlled method of evidence-based medicine,38 common cold patients (who were manifesting qi deficiency and evil invasion syndrome) were randomly divided into treatment group (19 patients) and control group (19 patients). The treatment group was treated with oral administration of modified Ganduqing granules that were formula variation in accordance with signs:patients with obvious sore throat added Niubangzi (Arctium lappa L.) and Banlangen(Lsatis indigotica Fort.), patients with typical exterior symptom added Jinyinhua (Lonicera japonica Thunb.) and Lianqiao (Forsythia suspensa (Thunb.) Vahl.), patients with severe cough added Jiegpng(Platycodon grandiflorum (Jaoq.) A. DC.) and Xingren (Prunus armeniaca L.var. ansu Maxim.)); 3 times a day for 3 days. The control group was treated with Compound Paracetamol and Amantadine Hydrochloride Capsule (Fufang Anfen Wan "an Jiaonang),2 times a day for 3 days. The clinical efficacy and the expression of human beta defense -2 were compared between the two groups before and after treatment, to explored the correlation between qi deficiency and toxic invasion and common cold.Results1.In theoretical research, we systematically constructed a theory system of Chinese medicine toxicology and interpreted details about"toxic" that included the concept, etiology, pathogenesis and treatment in Chinese medicine and expression and theoretical content in modern research.2. In application research, total effective rate was 100% and cure rate was 42.1% in Chinese medicine experimental group, total effective rate up to 94.7% and cure rate up to 31.5% in Western medicine experimental group, the cure rates of two groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). Two groups after treatment in patients with fever, headache, sore throat, cough, snuffle, fatigue, chilliness and thirst have relieved significantly, among them, relief of sore throat and fatigue had statistical significance between the two groups (P<0.05). Reductions of symptoms score had obvious difference in the interior-group and inter-group (P< 0.05). The control group's H?D-2 level and the treatment group's H?D-2 level in their own before and after comparison and the comparison between the two groups were not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:Based on the method of tonifying qi by detoxification, modified Ganduqing granules alleviated various symptoms of common cold (syndrome of qi deficiency and evil invasion), especially in relief of sore throat and fatigue. According to the clinical trial results of modified Ganduqing granules, it showed that the dosage of the medicine was effective and obvious adverse reaction was not found. |
