Objective: This clinical study compared Qingganjiedu Decoction with the hepatoprptective western medicine. And comparison between the two in the virological response, liver function, hepatic fibrosis and symptoms to objective evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine compound in the treatment of refractory chronic hepatitis C clinical curative effect. Methods: Using the open controlled trial of clinical research methods, selected refractory hepatitis C patients in 60 cases, 30 cases in test group, 30 cases in the control group. Experimental group received traditional Chinese medicine compound Qingganjiedu Decoction(treatment process for and evidence of drug addition and subtraction) in the treatment and the control group was given western medicine treatment of liver, treatment for 48 weeks. Observed before and after the treatment, the curative effect of the syndromes of and record score of symptoms and signs, and detection and objective outcome measures: the security indicators of liver function(AST, TBIL, DBIL, ALP, GGT, ALB, GLOB), HCV RNA,liver fibrosis indexes and abdominal ultrasound scores, and monitored the blood, urine, stool routine, ECG and renal function were observed to evaluate the efficacy and safety. Results: A total of 58 patients completed 48 weeks of treatment, the experimental group and control group, 29 cases in each. Each of the two groups had 1 patients fall off. Improvement of symptoms and signs, after treatment than before treatment in two groups of symptoms and signs, improve and in improvement of the hepatosplenomegaly, flank pain, abdominal stuffy abdominal distension, dry mouth and bitter, fatigue, yellowing of the body and eyes, spider nevus liver palms, belching, stool dilute pond of the experimental group than the control group(P < 0.05). Antiviral efficacy, the experimental group and the control group, the HCV RNA negative conversion rate was 0, but the test group virus quantitative mean less than that of the control group virus quantitative mean, and P < 0.05,statistical difference, the experimental group inhibit replication of HCV curative effect is better than that of control group. Clinical comprehensive therapeutic effect in test group were significant efficiency, efficiency, total efficiency was 51.72%, 41.37%, 93.10%, were better than the control group(27.59%, 48.27%, 75.86%, respectively), the difference is statistically significant(P < 0.05). Liver fibrosis, two groups after the treatment of the indexes of serum fibrosis were improved after treatment, and the experimental group HA, LN, C IV indicators better than the control group. Abdominal ultrasound showed no statistical difference between the two groups(P > 0.05). There were no adverse reactions throughout the study process. Conclusion: Qingganjiedu Decoction in improving refractory hepatitis C patients clinical symptoms and signs have obvious advantages, and have an obvious effect on protecting liver and lowering transaminase, reduce the degree of liver damage, slowing the progression of hepatic fibrosis; with a certain degree of the effect of Inhibition of HCV replication. But the abdominal ultrasound changes little, and consider the course is short of.
