The objective of this study is to observe the therapeutic effect of Yudan decoction in treating refractory jaundice, and to explore its mechanism preliminarily. The subject was divided into two parts: The first part:Clinical effect of Yudan decoction on intrahepatic cholestatic jaundice Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of Yudan decoction in treating jaundice caused by chronic cholestatic hepatitis, and to explore its mechanism preliminarily. Methods: In this study, all 27cases were chosen from the patients of chronic cholestatic hepatitis, which had received western medicine for 4 weeks and the level of serum total bilirubin decreased insignificantly (stage I). After 2 weeks drug withdrawal, they received Yudan decoction and western medicine for 4 weeks (stage II). The before-after study was adopted to compare therapeutic effect between two stages.Indexes of serum total bilirubin(STB), serum connect bilirubin (SCB), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotran major symptoms sferase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), γ-glutamyltransferrase (GGT), total bile acid (TBA) were chosen. At same time, remission of major symptoms and side effects of Yudan decoction were observed. Results: The serum bilirubin decreased obviously after treated by Yudan decoction and western medicine compared with stage I. The therapeutic effect of damp-heat endoretention type, hepatic stagnancy and qi stagnation type, and cold wetness type was 81.82%, 54.55% and 20.00% respectively. Conclusion: The therapeutic effect of Yudan decoction on jaundice caused by chronic cholestatic hepatitis is obvious. Yudan decoction can decrease the level of serum total bilirubin. The second part:Clinical effect of Yudan decoction on jaundice caused by primary liver cancer Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of Yudan decoction in treating jaundice...
