Clinical Observation Of Bu Shen Qu Tan Tang Combined With Clomiphene Citrate Treating Infertility Csused By Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Of Kidney Deficiency And Phlegm Dampness Type

Objective:Infertility caused by PCOS(polycystic ovary syndrome) is a hot spot in the research of Traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine.On the basis of wide understanding of infertility induced by PCOS, the study aimed to investigate the clinical effect of bu shen qu tan tang combined with clomiphene citrate(CC) used by Professor Zhang on infertility induced by PCOS. This study also explored the mechanism of clinical treatment, in order to provide a good scientific basis for the use of the prescription.Methods:Infertility patients induced by PCOS were randomly assigned to Chinese and Western medicine treatment group, Chinese medicine control group and Western medicine group. Treatment group was treated with bu shen qu tan tang combined with clomiphene citrate(CC), Chinese medicine control group was treated with bu shen qu tan tang and Western medicine group was treated with clomiphene citrate(CC). Three menstrual cycles was a treatment course. At the end of the course of treatment, the changes of TCM symptom score and serum levels of sex hormones(including LH, FSH, LH/FSH and T), endometrium thickness development situation were observed. Moreover, the ovulation rate, pregnancy rate and total effective rate were also calculated.Results:For 30 cases in the experimental group, the total effective rate of treatment is93%, the ovulation rate was 83%, the pregnancy rate was 43%; As for 30 cases in the control group treated with western medicine, the total effective rate of treatment is 77%,ovulation rate was 66%, pregnancy rate of 17%; and for 30 cases Chinese Medicine control group, the total effective rate of treatment is 70%, the ovulation rate was 59%, the pregnancy rate was 13%. The experimental group showed better performance for treatment of PCOS than control groups in terms of total effective rate, ovulation rate and pregnancy rate,are statistically significant.There was no significant difference between the experimental group and the Chinese medicine control group in the endometrial thickness of ovulation day,while their mean endometria on the ovulation day were both thicker than it of the Western medicine control group.Conclusions:The combination of Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of kidney deficiency phlegm dampness type caused by PCOS infertility,its curative effect is better than the simple use of traditional Chinese medicine or Western medicine for the treatment of the disease.The mechanism of its action is : the combination therapy methodof Chinese and Western medicine with traditional Chinese medicine to regulate the function of H-P-O-A axis of the body, decrease the LH, T and E2 level, LH/FSH ratio,and improve the endometrial thickness, improve the clinical symptoms of patients,Western medicine to restore ovulation function, both in combination can not only improve the cycle of ovulation rate,It can overcome the low pregnancy phenomenon of clomiphene citrate, so as to improve the probability of patients with successful pregnancy.
