Oral Health Service Ability Analysis In Jiang Xi Province

Objectives:With rapid economic development and improvement of people's living standards,the oral health care services get into a new development period.However,there is a lack of information about oral health care institutions and dental manpower resources,which are the decisive factors of the oral health care services.By investigating and analysis the basic situation of the oral health care institutions and the distribution of dental manpower resources in Jiangxi,this study aims to provide a scientific guidance and basis for our government when making policy and plan,improve oral health service conditions,comprehensively enhance the ability of oral health care services and the construction level,and assist the construction of national oral health services.Methods:Use the method of census and design feasible questionnaire survey tables,collect and sort the data of the general information from the tables filled by all registered institutions and oral medical colleges.Some of tables are issued for any number of levels,from the provincial planning commission of health until them finally to all the registered institutions,including oral special hospitals,general hospital dentistry,dental clinics,etc.Coordinated by the provincial planning commission of health and education department,other tables are distributed to all the oral medical colleges by education department.Finally export all the data into Excel,establish a database in SPSS19.0,and make a statistical analysis by SPSS19.0.Results:?.The survey results show that there are currently 1652 oral medical institutions in Jiangxi province,about 75.9%of which are private institutions and 24.1% are public,including 1214 medical institutions in the urban areas(73.5%)and 438 medical institutions in suburb(26.5%).At the same time,about 301 medical institutions are in Nanchang city(18.2%).There are 4019 dental chairs and 323 beds for maxillofacial surgery in Jiangxi province.?.Oral health personnel's general information:Composition:there are 3173 dentists in Jiangxi,1505 males(47.4%),and 1668 females(52.6%);if distributed by position,there are 2542 practicing physicians(80.1 %),631 assistant medical practitioners(19.1%),the rest are 542 dental nurses and 201 technicians.The ratio between dentists and nurses is 5.8:1.Dentists distribution:1440 dentists in public sector(45.4%)and 1733 dentists in private medical institutions(54.6%);there are 2382 medical institutions in urban areas(75.1 %);791 medical institutions in suburb(24.9%).?.Education:212 graduate degree(6.7%),763 undergraduate degree(24.0%),1277 college degree(40.2%),and 921 below college degree(29,1%).Dentists in public institutions have higher education than in private institutions(P<0.05);dentists in urban have higher education than in suburb(P<0.05).There are 975 dentists with high degree(including graduate and undergraduate degree)in Jiangxi province,309 people(31.7%)of them in Nanchang.Nanchang have higher education than others(P<0.05).Age:there are 124 people blow 25 years old(3.9%),896 people from 25 to 34(28.2%),1001 people from 35 to 44(31.5%),961 people from 45 to 54(30.3%),and 191 people above 55 years old(6.1%).Dentists in public institutions are older than in private institutions(P<0.05);dentists in urban are older than in suburb(P<0.05).Title: the number of senior professional titles of all oral medical institutions in Jiangxi province is about 450 people,chief physician of 86 people,accounting for 2.7%;deputy physician of 364 people,accounting for 11.5%;179 people(39.7%)in Nanchang city.Nanchang oral physician title is higher than other city divided into districts(P < 0.05).Others include intermediate 918 people,accounting for 28.9% and intermediate under 1805 people,accounting for 56.9%.Oral physician title in public institutions is higher than in private dental institutions(P < 0.05).Urban oral physician title is higher than oral doctors in rural areas(P < 0.05).?.Oral professional student enrollment from 2013 to 2015: the number of graduate students respectively are 24,26,36;undergraduates respectively 138,315,138;college students respectively 586,794,586;secondary specialized school students respectively 48,75 and 75;the adult education undergraduate course respectively 59,63,63;adult education college respectively 8,7,6.There are 38 postgraduate's supervisors and 3 doctoral tutors in all the Jiangxi province.Conclusion:?.IThe distribution of oral health service capability in Jiangxi province,including oral medical institutions and oral human resources,is unbalanced in urban together with suburb.?.Private dental medical institutions in Jiangxi province has been the main driving force for oral market development due to their fast development.However,it is impatient to solve the problem if they can meet the need of developing people for the lack of high-level oral talents.?.Both quantity and quality of the oral health personnel are on the low levels.The ratio between dentists and nurses is uncoordinated and the training modes of oral care personnel is worth exploring.?.Oral professional student enrollment in Jiangxi province is on the low level obviously in both the quantity and quality,so the training mode of oral medical students is worth pondering.
