Objectives The research objectives are to observe the effect of decoction of radix bupleuri, ramulus cinnamonmi and dried ginger on the level of the airway neurogenic inflammatory mediators Substance P?Neurokinins A?Neurokinins B in senile post infectious coughing patients, and to explore the potential mechanism of the treatment of decoction of radix bupleuri, ramulus cinnamonmi and dried ginger to senile postinfectious cough. Methods The patients suffering from senile postinfectious cough who were in accordance with the research topic are randomly divided into the control group and the observation group. The control group was treated with western medicine Compound Methoxyphenamine Capsules orally, while the observation group was treated with chinese medicine decoction of radix bupleuri, ramulus cinnamonmi and dried ginger, the treatment courses are both 3 to 5 weeks.Compare the coughing symptom score and the coughing life quality score of patients from 2 groups before with after the treatment, detect the contents of airway neurogenic inflammatory mediators Substance P?Neurokinins A?Neurokinins B and Secretory immunoglobulin A before and after the treatment with ELISA and filled ELISA approach respectively.Analysis and process the results with SPSS18.0 statistics software. Results 1.the comparison of clinical effect:after the treatment,Day and night coughing symptom scores and total coughing symptom scores decreased.the difference was statistically significant.(P<0.01);and daytime coughing symptom scores and total coughing symptom scores of observation group were remarkably superior to those of control group, the difference was statistically significant.(P<0.01).but the comparison of the nighttime coughing symptom scores between the control group and the observation group had no statistical significance(P>0.05).The coughing life quality scores of patients in two groups increased after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant.(P<0.01) the coughing life quality scores of observation group were higher than those of the control group, but the difference had no statistical significance(P>0.05).2 ? The effect of the airway neurogenic inflammatory mediators :after the treatment, the contents of airway neurogenic inflammatory mediators Substance P?Neurokinins A?Neurokinins B of patients in two groups decreased in varied degrees. the difference was statistically significant.(P<0.05) while compared with the control group, the level of airway neurogenic inflammatory mediators Substance P?Neurokinins A?Neurokinins B of patients in observation group decreased significantly, and the difference was statistically significant.(P<0.01).3?The effect of Secretory immunoglobulin A:Compared with pretreatment, the contents of Secretory immunoglobulin A in patients in the observation group significantly increased, and the difference had statistical significance.(P<0.05) the contents of Secretory immunoglobulin A of patients in the observation group were clearly higher than those in control group, and the difference was statistically significant.(P<0.01) the comparison between pretreatment and post-treatment of the contents of Secretory immunoglobulin A in patients in the control group, the difference had no statistical significance(P>0.05).Conclusions The treatment of decoction of radix bupleuri, ramulus cinnamonmi and dried ginger in senile postinfectious cough could significantly improve patients symptom of cough, their life quality, enhance patients' immune function, reduce the recurrent coughs.this might be related to the reduction of the level of airway neurogenic inflammatory mediators Substance P?Neurokinins A?Neurokinins B and the increase of the level of Secretory immunoglobulin A.
