Objective: To assess the clinical efficacy and the medication security of Weijingtang and Maxingshigantang in treating stroke-associated pneumonia of phlegm-hot in the lung. Methods: Collect 60 patients who had been diagnosed with stroke-associated pneumonia of phlegm-hot in the lung. These patients were treated in the Hubei Provincial Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital from March 2014 to September 2015.And they were divided randomly into two groups, one is the control group and the other one is the treatment group. Both the two groups accepted the routine western medicine including anti-infection treatment. The treatment group was given Weijingtang Maxingshigantang in addition. The treatment continued for 2 weeks.Calculate the total effect, the symptom score changes in inflammatory markers, Bathel index scores and other indicators, and observe the adverse reactions may occur during the treatment. Analyzed the datas by using the SPSS of 17.0.Results: 1.Total clinical effect: the treatment group had a better total clinical effect than the control group( 93.33% vs.83.33%,P<0.05).2.The total TCM syndrome score: both the two groups declined apparently than before after taking the treatment measures(P <0.01).The treatment group decreased more apparantly than the control group(P <0.05).3.Single TCM syndrome score: the treatment group remarkably reduced(P <0.01) after treatment in each single syndrome, which showed remarkable difference. The control group decreased apparently in fever, cough, sputum color and character, chest pain, thirsty, etc(P<0.01),it also decreased in improving slippery pulse(P<0.05),but it has no significant change in easing abdomen distension and constipation, and improve the condition of furred tongue(P>0.05).The treatment group had a better advantage in improving the cough, color and character of sputum, thirst, easing abdomen distension and constipation, adjusting coated tongue and the pulse(P<0.05). However, compared with the control group, the difference in improving fever, chest pain, etc was not apparent(P> 0.05).4.inflammatory index:both two groups decreased apparently(P<0.01), but there was no obvious difference between them(P> 0.05).5.The Bathel index points: no obvious discrepancy was found in the two groups after the treatment(P>0.05),or between them after treatment(P>0.05).6.Safety assessment: no side effects appeared during the treatment. Conclusions: 1 Weijingtang and Maxingshigantang combined with routine western medicine had a better advantage in improving total clinical effect?total or single TCM syndrome score than the single routine western medicine.2. Weijingtang and Maxingshigantang had a high safety.
