Objective:The aim of this study was to examine whether HSP70 and e NOS polymorphisms were associated with primary angle closure glaucoma(PACG)in a Chinese Han population. Methods: The sample consisted of 68 subjects with PACG and 96 controls in a Han Chinese population. The single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)included rs3793342,rs7830 in e NOS and rs1043618 in HSP70,SNP genotyping was performed with Polymerase chain reaction, gene clone and DNA sequencing. Results: The SNP rs1043618 in HSP70 found to be associated with PACG(?~2=6.482,p=0.039),In addition,The SNP s rs3793342,rs7830 in e NOS showed no significant association with PACG.Allelic and genotypic frequency analysis of rs3793342 and rs7830 revealed no significant difference between patients with PACG and healthy controls. Conclusion: Our study reveals a suggestive association of HSP70 with PACG in a Han Chinese population. The analysis of e NOS gene polymorphisms showed no significant association of Chinese Han population.
