1 ObjectiveElongated needle's advantages on therapy of post-stroke shoulder-hand upper extremity edema syndrome can be clarified after the clinical efficacy of elongated needle upper extremity edema after stroke shoulder-hand syndrome being observed.Meanwhile, preliminary study of acupuncture treatment SHS can be enriched, the last but not the least is that new methods and ideas in clinical can be implemented.2 Methods60 patients were randomized into treatment group and control group according to different treatment methods. The treatment group was elongated needle therapy, at the same time, control group was acupunctured ordinarily. Each of the group got treatment once a day, 6 times a week. Evaluate relevant functions after 20 days via statistical analysis on score of upper extremity edema usage and drainage law of motion of hand on the palm with the thumb tip distance.3 ResultsDrainage volume of the two groups decreased after treatment, and extent of the greater difference between the treatment group than the control group, and t he difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.01). Two edema scores decreased after treatment, and score of the Elongated needle's grou p was slightly lesser than the Common acupuncture's group, and the difference b etween the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05). Score of hand joint activity was slightly lesser after treatment, and score of the Elongated needle's group was lesser than the Common acupuncture's group, and the difference betw een the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).4 ConclusionElongated needle can significantly reduce SHS patients' volume of drain measurement, score of edema and hand joint activity, and effectively improve on hand function of SHS patients.
