The Research On The Ideology Of Preserving The Aged Population's Health In <Yang Lao Feng Qin Shu>

OBJECTIVE The study of <Yang Lao Feng Qin Shu> which was written by Chen Zhi in Song dynasty,aimed at excavating the moral ideology of preserving the aged population's health of it,to guide the modern old people to carry on the health care and to improve the quality of life. Meanwhile,by exploring how to implement the policy of combination of medical and support, to help establish and perfect social care service system for the aged.METHODS Based on literature research, through various channels to study, collect and organize the information on <Yang Lao Feng Qin Shu>, plans to study the formation, the academic viewpoint and the characteristic of the thought of health preservation from this book,furthermore, to enrich the theoretical connotation of it, and to explore the application value of it. In the process of analysis, in addition to traditional Chinese medicine health culture as the main line, there are other interrelated branches to be used. For example the historical data are used to survey the political background of the thought, or Chinese traditional culture of filial piety is used to study the impact on the thoughts, and the dietetic culture of Song Dynasty are also used. Furthermore, compared with the modern concept of medicine, this paper intends to explore the value of modern application. This study also references the thought of self-supporting which is from <Shou Qin Yang Lao Xin Shu> written by Zou Xuan.CONCLUSIONS The ideology of preserving the aged population's health of < Yang Lao Feng Qin Shu>are summarized as follows. First, prevention is better than treatment; second, food health-preserving is better than drugs; third, mental-cultivation is better than therapy;the last one, self-supporting is better than support from others. In this book, the idea of health care for the elderly, focusing on the physiological and pathological characteristics of the elderly, and promoting prevention, dietotherapy, adjusting sentiment and so on,are very suitable for the modern society. However, with the increasing of the elderly population, the phenomenon of the elderly of empty-nest or living-alone family becomes obvious. If the pension is entirely borne by the next generation, it has been unable to meet the needs of social development. Meanwhile, according to the recent elderly-care policy, the combination of medical and support, this paper puts forward the idea that “we should help the elderly realize the independent life with encouraging responsibility for filial piety and self-service at home”. This can help the elderly to complete the prevention of health-care and to stimulate the enthusiasm and initiative.
