Objective? To explore the status of schizophrenia's family functioning;?To findthe differences and similarities of family functioning between the schizophrenia's and thenormal people's;?To study the influencing factors of the schizophrenia's families, so as togiving basic theories for family therapy and nursing. Methods From March to September2012,200schizophrenics who were admitted toNingan hospital in Ningxia were selected as study group,200region, gender, age, and familymembers live together-matched normal people were selected as control group, both groupswas carried out by using general demographic questionnaire and Family AssessmentDevice(FAD-CV), Family Adaptability and Cohesion Scale Second Edition-Chinese Version(FACES?-CV), which completed by consumers. The causing or accidents scale, andschizophrenics types questionnaire were carried out in control group, wrote by the doctors.SPSS16.0software was used to analyze statistics, the comparison of measurement data using2-independent sample test, the comparison of enumeration data using chi-square test, andanalyzing the linear relation between dependent variable and independent variables usingMultiple Linear Regression(MLR). General linear model was used, different groups(1casegroup,2control group), father and mother educational levels(1,2,3,4,5) were selected as threedifferent items, and factorial analysis of variance (2×5×5)were used to analyze the effectsamong FAD and FACES?-CV items.Result: The results of cross-sectional investigation:?The family functioning ofdifferent schizophrenia types: There were statistical differences between the scores of RL,AI,GF got by patients who lived in urban area and rural area(P<0.05). The patients whose jobs were leaders got lower scores than workers, farmers and un-employers in AR, AI andGF(P<0.05), and the consumers who received higher salaries got lower scores in AR and AI(P<0.05).Statistical differences among the groups who were positive and negative whenmaking decisions were found in items of RL,AR,GF, and guide-cooperation consumers gothighest scores in Cohesion and Adaptability(P<0.05)? those who had accepted abuse of theirparents got higher scores in CM, AR, AI, and GF, and lower Cohesion(P<0.05).?There wereno statistical difference among the family functioning of different schizophrenia types(P<0.05)??There were no difference between family functioning scores of schizophrenias'with and without trouble and accidents behavior; the patients'Affection Response score weredifferent among different degrees of trouble and accidents behavior(P<0.05). The outcomesof comparison between case and control groups? There were statistical differences betweencase and control groups in items of FAD-CV and FACES?-CV except Adaptability(P<0.05),and there were more“extreme model”an“dmiddle model”families, but less“balance model”families in case group(x2=7.022?P=0.030). The outcomes of Multiple linear Regression:family functioning was correlated with CM, AR, RL, PS, their parents'illness history andconsumer abandoned history, of which Communication was the most important one(P<0.05)?Adaptability, CM, age, and GF were correlated with Cohesion(P<0.05)?Consumers'decision making enthusiasm and Cohesion were protective factors for Adaptability, whilewith or without trouble and accidents' behavior was negative factor(P<0.05). The outcomeof Factorial analysis of variance:?The PS,CM,RL,AR,AI,BC and GF scores of studygroup were higher than those of control group, the differences were significant?p<0.05).?The family father who had high school or above educational level had lowest BCscores(p<0.05),while family mother who was illiteracy had highest AR scores(p<0.05).?Instudy group and control group, the family father was illiteracy had highest CM and BC scores, while the family father who had technical secondary school and above educational level hadlowest CM and BC scores. In study group and control group, the family mother who was illiteracy had highest AR scores, while the family mother who had technical secondary schooland above educational level had lowest scores.?The orders of factors affecting CM weregroup(?2=0.191)?group*father educational level(?2=0.041)?As for the factors affectingAR were group (?2=0.334)?group*mother educational level(?2=0.036)?mothereducational level(?2=0.034)?As for BC were group??2=0.495??father educational level??2=0.050??group*father educational level??2=0.040?Conclusion?Schizophrenias who were oppidan, leaders, high salary owners, andmotivated positive-makers had better family functioning than others, while who were farmers, workers, vagrants, negative-decision makers, and had ever been abused and more trouble andaccidents' behavior had worse family functioning.?There were no difference amongdifferent types;the higher the degree of patients'trouble and accidents behavior was, theworse the Affection Response function would be.?Schizophrenia's family functioning wasworse than normal people's, and there were more “extreme model” and “middle model”families, but less “balance model” families in case group.?Better CM, Cohesion,Adaptability and AR and RL among the family members could promote family functioningbecoming better, otherwise, their parents' illness history, trouble and accidents behaviorwould make it worse.?Mother's educational level affected AR, while father's educationallevel affected BC.
