According to agronomic requirement of garlic planting and the irregular shape of garlic, at present garlic planting is mainly to take the way of artificial cultivation in our country, this way not only leads to hard labor and low efficiency, but also prone to the phenomenon of labor shortage, therefore, the research and development of garlic planting machine has become more and more urgent. Garlic planting machine can reduce garlic farming labor intensity and improve production efficiency, in order to realize the mechanization of garlic planting, it need to solve each kind of hole single grain of garlic and planting garlic pointed up, which becomes more and more urgent.This paper analyzes systematically structural advantages and deficiencies of existing types of seed-metering mechanism, planting mechanism, power transmission system, ground wheel, which is based on designing a new type of synchronous sowing way of hanging type garlic planting machine, meanwhile 3-D model is established, then motion interference simulation was carried out. This paper combines with irregular shape, agronomic and mechanization planting requirement, the seed metering mechanism uses barrel type discharging mechanism, which can solve a series of problems in the process of taking garlic and the time to take a grain of garlic. The cleaning-seeds mechanism adopts three levels of cleaning seeds methods, which use brush, scraping board kind of seed and centrifugal force. This way greatly reduces the number of garlic and improves the utilization rate of the garlic. The planting device uses a six axis planetary gear type structure, seeding bucket and planting bucket have adopted the conical shape, these can realize that garlic points up from delivery to the completion of the planting process, and then solved the problem of restricting the mechanization of garlic planting. The power transmission system uses the ground wheel, the chain wheel and the chain, it analyzes the influence factors of the ground wheel's friction force and slip rate, which provides theoretical basis for the whole machine equipped with sufficient power.The paper uses ADAMS to simulate and analyze that the motion displacement, velocity and acceleration change with time, which provides the theoretical basis for the following optimization design. The ANSYS finite element software was used to analyze the strain, stress and total deformation of the ground wheel axle, which is based on checking the strength. Furthermore, it verifies the correctness of the design of the ground wheel axle and provides the basis for the optimization of the structure of the ground wheel.Finally, it does field test about hanging type garlic planting machine with synchronous sowing method. The seed-metering mechanism, planting mechanism, the ground wheel's friction force and slip rate are tested, the purpose is to discover problems and optimal design. The results not only verify the correctness of the theory design and provide valuable experience.
