EPCM Project Schedule Planing And Control

EPCM(Engineering,Procurement,and Construction Management)is a highly integrated project management practice.Integrating engineering,procurement and construction,this management practice extremely reduces the duration of project full life circle,and brings the owner more profit.Therefore,EPCM is wildly used in industrial construction field overseas and becomes increasingly recognized in China recently.Since the duration of the project full circle is extremely reduced,a more sophisticated schedule management is required and a series of problems on schedule planning and controlling demands prompt solutions.Nowadays,many professional schedule engineers are committing themselves to researching an optimized EPCM schedule management practice.This thesis,basing on EPCM schedule planning and controlling theory and citing an industrial project schedule management case,analyses the practical application of various schedule planning and controlling practices,incl.: project scope description and boundary clarification,organization chart,milestone,work breakdown structure,activities' logical relationship and duration estimate,network planning technique and Gantt chart,critical path method,earned value,weight,rolling wave,front line technique,S curve,etc.This thesis also studies on the various problems during project execution and practical solutions.This thesis applies schedule management theories to review the JSLC project schedule planning and controlling procedure,and consequently provides several suggestion of improving schedule management,which may be referenced in the future.
