Research On New Mobile Public Toilet Design

The conception of mobile public toilet was first proposed in United States in 1940 s.With the continuous development of the social economy,the mobile public toilets that originated in Europe and the United States are booming in our country in recent years.The mobile public toilets has become an effective ways to resolve the dilemma of which restroom to use for public in densely populated area such as stations,wharfs,scenic spots,villa areas,new residential districts,large sites,squares,and high streets,owning to the following advantages: lightweight structure,freedom color assortment,and without the restrictions of sites and environment.Although there are many advantages of mobile public toilets,there are some problems in mobile public toilets in real life.Serious shortage of per capita mobile public toilets in public,small internal space,lack of humanistic concern,poor condition,heavy smell(imperfect ventilation),no special use platform for mother,child,disabled and old people,and inconformity to ergonomics and other shortcomings seriously restricts the use of mobile public toilets and discounts the experience of using mobile public toilets for public.In addition,the mobile public toilets often have poor sanitary conditions in comparison with fixed public toilets,which makes some public that have the need for toilets have no intention to use mobile public toilets.Therefore,to improve the use efficiency and the public use experience,the problems of mobile public toilets that mentioned above must be solved.Based on the collection and analysis of a large number of domestic and foreign information,this paper study the design of a new type of mobile public toilet from perspectives of modular design and humanization design,considering the user demand.Firstly,this paper investigated the present situation of mobile public toilets at home and abroad and summarized the innovations of mobile public toilets.We also concluded the user demand for new-type mobile public toilets by using questionnaire survey,interview method and typical character analysis.Then,applying the modern design method,such as modular design and humanization design,to the design of new-type mobile public toilets,the load-type and splicing module structures are widely used in the design processing of mobile public toilets,and the humanization reflected in the following aspects: the humanization of the function,the humanization of the modeling,the humanization of the color,the humanization of the material and the humanization of the decoration.At last,we designed a new-type mobile public toilet by using the design methods summarized in my paper.The ergonomics and parameter design of new mobile public toilets,the selection of materials and colors of new mobile public toilets,and the design of excrement disposal of new mobile public toilets are summarized.The design of a new mobile public toilet can be combined in different forms to expand and extend the function and meet the humanized design.
