The Research Of Chinese Urban Public Toilets Design

As one of Urban Infrastructure, public toilets have much to do with the basic physical requirements of human being, and are an important mark of a civilized modern city. They are also an important criterion to weigh the development of the social economy degree and the government's focus of a national and the area. However, current domestic public toilets construction is still in its primitive stage, and remains a big room to expand and increase.At first, the paper deeply analyzed the latest national standards of public toilets, and started research from some cases in daily life with the methods of consulting data, on the spot investigates and interviews and so on. Through this research, the paper summarized the principle and strategy of public toilets'planning. On the one hand, this paper put forward some pertinent suggestions to planning of public toilets in our country. on the other hand, it contributed to perfecting the public toilets theories, pointed out the deficiency in the latest national standards of public toilets, analyzed the existing problems and put forward some suggestions.After that, the paper researched public toilets mainly on architecture, landscape, management and other public toilets. It filled in the details easy to be ignored in the architecture and landscape design of public toilets, and put forward some suggestions in management according to the domestic and foreign advanced experience.At last, taking the World Expo'public toilets as an example, the paper presented an analysis of its architecture and landscape according the previously mentioned result.The author well knows that it was not the only way to solve the problems, and not the best. Hope this paper is a beginning. Public toilets are small buildings, but a major problem. It should be concerned by more and more people.
