In recent years,Chin's civil aviation industry is in a rapid development stage. The number of aircraft and air routes are growing rapidly and increasing in size, and the rational match between aircraft types and routes has received increasingly attention. The large number of new routes and the rapid growth of transportation capacity will inevitably improve the complexity of aircraft fleet management. As a result, many domestic airlines currently face difficulties in matching aircraft types and routes, which is mainly reflected in the integrated management difficulties including fleet capacity, route network, passenger demand, peer competition and so on.Therefore, the in-depth understanding of the logic and the mechanism of aircraft type and route matching is an important basis for airlines to optimize fleet resources, route resources, and passenger resources, which is a prerequisite for enhancing comprehensive competitiveness.Based on this background and current situation, this paper identifies the research topic of “Study on the Matching of Aircraft Models and Routes.”This paper firstly defined the concept of aircraft type and route matching clearly, and reviewed the research literature of aircraft type and route matching from different aspects. The paper mainly studied the matching of aircraft models and routes from the perspective of economy and market, and mainly analyzed the influencing factors of model and route matching, including technical performance factors and economic factors. While the focuses were more on economic factors analysis. In the construction of the theoretical model,to establish a matching model of aircraft models and routes in a competitive environment, the competitive factors are introduced;under the condition of maximizing profits, the influence of various factors on the matching of aircraft types and routes is analyzed from internal principles. The numerical simulation method was used to simulate the results of the model, and the panorama of the model and route matching scheme was described.Based on this, the strategies and suggestions for matching the model and route were proposed. Finally, the operational data of 33 major routes in China in 2015 was collected. We established a multiple regression model and used Stata measurement software to conduct empirical tests on the theoretical results of Chapter 4 and found that passenger demand levels, flight frequencies, and airline competition levels are all the important factors affecting aircraft matching on the route. In addition, the route was divided into commercial routes and leisure routes for further analysis. It was found that the match strategies of the aircraft routes in the different competition environments were obviously different, and explained their internal causes and mechanisms.
