With the rapid progress of China’s aviation industry,the airspace flow increases rapidly.In order to ensure air traffic safety,air traffic controllers must undergo strict training before they can work with certificates.The airport approach simulation system uses real-time simulation technology to simulate the real approach process of the aircraft and provide high-quality training environment for controllers.However,most of the flight motion simulation modules of the system are developed with the empirical data of the aircraft,which will cause the problem of inaccurate flight data simulation.Therefore,based on aircraft dynamics modeling,this paper studies the airport approach simulation system,including aircraft dynamics modeling and real-time solution method,virtual pilot model design and air traffic control monitor model.(1)According to the flight dynamics,the various modules needed for the aircraft dynamics model,such as the total motion equation module,the environment module and the engine modle were constructed.So that the aircraft can be controlled through the control surface,throttle lever and other inputs.Through the direct control relationship between aircraft control surface and aircraft Euler angle,the original Euler equation was improved,and the singular solution of the original Euler equation was solved.Finally,RKM3-4 variable step algorithm was selected to ensure the accuracy and real-time of the model.Compared with the known aircraft disturbance results,the validity and authenticity of the model were verified.(2)The virtual pilot model of approach simulation system was designed by PID control theory.On the basis of the aircraft dynamics model,the altitude control system,the heading control system and the automatic throttle control system were designed.The glide control system and the leveling control system were designed in the aircraft approach and landing stage.Matlab/ Simulink platform was used to build the virtual pilot model,and the flight process of the aircraft turning,altitude descending,approach landing and so on was simulated.The simulation results show that the designed virtual pilot model can control the aircraft to fly automatically along the route according to the control instructions issued by the controller.(3)The interface of the airport approach simulation system was built by GL Studio software.According to the actual air traffic management related functions,the buttons,led and other function related controls were added.The program of the aircraft dynamics model and virtual pilot model was written in C + + programming language.An air traffic control monitor was built by linking the aircraft model with the interface model.The aircraft approach and landing experiment was designed.Through the virtual pilot model,a number of aircraft were guided to approach in turn according to the requirements of the instrument approach chart.At the same time,the simulated flight data was saved in the data file and displayed on the interface of the simulation system,which accomplishes the basic functions required by the approach simulation system.
