It is a common challenge for the world to deal with the population aging problem. The large population base of China means that the number of the elderly people will continue to be at a high level for a long time.Compared with developed countries,China,as a developing country,is still unable to bear the pressure brought by the olders.Particularly,in some rural areas, because of some limited factors like economic condition, demographic composition and geographical position, the pension benefits there are imperfect and various elderly-care services cannot be fully conducted. As a result, the elderly-care issue is more challenging. Thanks to the increasing attention of the Chinese government on issues of agriculture, farmers and rural areas and also the proposal of the new countryside initiative, especially since the release of "A Development Plan on New Rural Communities and New Countrysides in Shandong Province" by the local government in September 2014,the development of the new rural communities has been undergoing. This plan not only allocates rural lands in an appropriate way,but also re-adjust the rural population so as to build new communities. It will effectively improve social services and managements in rural areas, enhance people's living standards, accelerate the implementation of the“home-based elder-care" and the“community elder-care”,and gradually ease and solve the elder-care problem in rural areas. In this paper, the author raised the project of optimizing the rural dwelling structure in the process of planing new socialist countrysides, focusing on the houses lived by the old people. After learning relevant policies about rural housing transformation, the author surveyed the dwelling condition in Zhujiazhuang Village,Weifang City,Shandong Province by herself, trying to take the olders' humane needs into consideration and optimize the rural houses in a practical sense so as to effectively alleviate the elderly-care conflicts and pressure in rural areas.
