The Narrative Space Research Of Old District In Shenyang

Narrative space research,coming from history,literature and other disciplines,has been gradually applied to urban and rural planning,especially in the field of urban and rural spatial structure areas.The theory of narrative space not only takes care about the physical elements in the development of the city,but also pays more attention to dig the city culture and city memory which were the deeper meaning of the physical elements.In recent years,based on the platform of spatial data analysis and GIS,etc,it formed the narrative space research method combining quantitative and qualitative analysis.We can grasp the intrinsic link between narrative elements more easier and build narrative space layout structure at the very root.Then we can design a unique urban landscape and spatial form on this basis.This paper mainly adopted the spatial point pattern to analysis the narrative space in Shenyang old district.From the results of narrative space quantitative research,we could see the agglomeration area of narrative elements in every period and it is also the agglomeration area of narrative space to some extent.According to the distribution of narrative space center,we could summarize the narrative structure and further obtain the narrative spatial characteristics of Shenyang old district.The analysis results showed that the narrative spatial structure of Shenyang old district in ancient,modern and contemporary three periods had undergone the evolution from simple to complex and had become more obvious.The narrative space of three periods superimposed to form the narrative spatial structure of one nuclear,multiple cores,five axes,six groups with the distinctive characteristics.First of all,the narrative space had the inheritance characteristics about historical and cultural.The inheritance characteristics about historical and cultural made the old district of Shenyang more attractive.The second point was the agglomeration of narrative space.The narrative elements and the narrative space with different nature clustered together to response each other and constituted the overall narrative space of the Shenyang old district.Third,narrative space had the characteristics of dynamic development.In this dynamic development trend,the overall narrative space composition of Shenyang old district would be more perfect.The spatial structure would be more reasonable and the spatial features would be more distinct.Finally,the organic growth of narrative space and the sustainable development of the whole city would come true.The quantitative analysis of the narrative space in the old district of Shenyang could not only be able to enrich the theory of narrative space,but also conducive to the development and perfection of the narrative space theory.Moreover,it could deeply explore the historical and cultural resources of the old district in Shenyang.Based on the conclusion of the quantitative analysis of the narrative space,this paper proposed reasonable and effective ways to update and transform the old district of Shenyang.
