Research On The Evolution And Spatial Structure Of Narrative Space In The Old City Of Jinan

Originated in history and literature,narratology turned to space research and formed spatial narratology at the end of the 20 th century,which was applied to urban and rural planning nowadays.Spatial narratology not only focus on the material elements of the research object,the culture and memory of the material elements is also concerned,and it has provided a new research way for the exploring of space and urban memory.Known as the "Spring City",Jinan was listed as a national famous historical and cultural city by the State Council as early as 1968.However,since the reform and opening up,the extensive urban development mode triggered the lack of urban characteristics in Jinan.In this context,fully exploring its old urban characteristics and cultural heritage can not only provide reference for the shaping of urban characteristics,but also provide a better guiding scheme for urban renewal and transformation.This paper divides the narrative space elements of Jinan into natural elements,artificial elements and humanistic event elements,and divides them into four development stages with the Ming Dynasty,port opening,founding of the people’s Republic of China and reform and opening up as the time node.After this,the narrative elements of the old urban area of Jinan are collected and classified.Based on GIS platform,the point pattern of overall structure of narrative space is quantitatively analyzed using kernel density and K function,which combined with the analysis of the basic structure of narrative unit,corridor,cluster and so on.Then the evolution law and evolution mechanism are analyzed.The countermeasures for the renewal of narrative space in the old urban area is given according to the research results finally.The results of this paper show that since the establishment of Jinan,the narrative spatial structure has gradually become complex and enriched,and formed the overall narrative spatial structure of "three cores,multi centers,seven axes and four groups".Narrative space comes with three obvious characteristics: historical inheritance,agglomeration and dynamic development.Politics,economy,culture and natural environment have provided the driving force for narrative space evolution.The quantitative analysis of narrative space not only enriches the research results of the old urban area of Jinan,it also promotes the development of narrative space theory.By exploring the historical and cultural resources of the old urban area of Jinan deeply,urban planners can have a better grasp of the material and culture of the old urban area,and finally as a guide to the urban renewal and transformation.
