Research On The Front Gate Of Chinese Buddhist Temples In Mainland China

Since Buddhism introduced into China in Year One or so,Buddhist temple has been using the traditional Chinese courtyard layout,and then a fixed form named The Seven Palaces in Temple formed gradually which including front gate,great hall,Ursa major,clock tower,drum tower and other buildings.As the starting point and of Buddhist temple,the front gate is one of the representative building in Buddihist Buildings.In this paper,I researching on the front gate of Chinese Buddhist temples in mainland China,excavating from historical documents,historical buildings,explore the temple building design,construction and use issues.Then summarized the historical development and architectural features of the building temple front gate and explore a contemporary society,age,area gate building,and provide guidance and ideas to protect and develop the front gate building.The paper has five chapters.The first chapter defined research scope,briefly describes the research background,purpose,significance and research status quo of the problem of the Buddhist temple front gate.The second chapter for the history of the front gate building development research.Through the literature,Dunhuang murals and description of the scene painting works of art such as buildings,as well as the study of historical architecture,explore the universality and regularity.And then analyses the Buddhist temple front gate of new development in the regions of Taiwan and Japan.The third and fourth chapter,respectively,study the entrance building itself and its indoor and outdoor environment,analyzes the“National key temples of Buddhism in the Han Region" hundred Buddhist temple in the front gate building,analysis the Buddhist temple architecture and function of the front gate and the space layout,summarizes the front gate building design elements,local characteristics and design factors,etc.In the final chapter,it suggested that the construction of the Buddhist temple gate cannot blindly pursue to restore ancient ways.On the basis of the original historical expand innovation,designers should understanding of history correctly,adjust measures to local conditions,and combined with the current situation of the development of society and productivity.The research on the front gate of Buddhist temple,not only conducive to the protection and utilization of the temple,it is the re-excavation of Chinese ancient connotation,is the complementary and improvements of ancient system,great historical and realistic significance.
