Mountainous highway is an important part of expressway network of China,and plays an irreplaceable role in transportation.Fuel consumption is included in its whole life cycle cost.Besides,emissions along highway will distinctly effect the surrounding environment.The consumption calculation method which is suitable for the mountainous highway in China can provide technical support for the evaluation of highway design scheme.Developing fuel consumption simulation system for mountainous highway can improve the precision and efficiency of calculation.This subject derived from the research on evaluation method of automobile consumption of mountainous highway based on VSP,which is supported by the Ministry of Transport and Transportation(No.2015319812200).In the study of fuel consumption calculation method,the forecasting method of operating speed V85 in JTG B05-2015 highway project safety evaluation standard is adopted,and the approximate continuous speed is obtained by dividing each section into one meter step,VSP distribution of each vehicle type then be found.In order to complete heavy vehicles fuel consumption rate database,bus of large-size and the six-axle truck are used as test vehicle,Weichai CAN bus adapter is used to connect the CAN bus and read data flow from vehicle ECU in the K1133-K1176 section of Xihan highway.Based on the VC ++ software development platform,the VSP-based mountain highway fuel consumption simulation system is developed.The DAO database is used to manage the database,and the operation of adding,modifying,deleting and exporting the data table is completed.The system is divided into data Input and management module,data processing module,result output module and user management module to achieve road database management,road energy consumption simulation,measurement results output and user management and other functions.The VSP-based mountain highway fuel consumption simulation system is tested to calculate the energy consumption of the Xihan Highway.The simulation results are analyzed under different traffic volume and vehicle ratio.Results show that velocity of heavy-duty vehicles and light-duty vehicles are 25km/h-80km/h and 55km/h-95km/h.,and acceleration of heavy-duty vehicles and light-duty vehicles are-0.5m/s2-0.3m/s2 and-0.9 m/s2-0.8 m/s2.Maximum relative error between the predictive value and the real value of the fuel consumption among each vehicle type is 15%,which verifies the reliability and effectiveness of fuel consumption simulation system for mountainous highway.
