With the development of China’s urbanization process,more and more historical blocks have been seriously damaged.Since the direct municipality in 1997,the city is also in rapid expansion and renovation process.And because of interest factor considerations in the process of urbanization,lead to a large number of reinforced concrete buildings appear,replaced the traditional historical and cultural blocks.As the carrier of urban culture,historical and cultural streets is an integral part of urban development process.In this paper,by exploring the regeneration design strategy of chongqing historical and cultural blocks,to study how to make the chongqing historical and cultural blocks organic renewal design by the building,street space,and cultural resources of it.This kind of renewal design is not only for the purpose of creating a better urban living space,but also to enhance the cultural quality of the city.This thesis mainly divided into three parts:The first part of the paper’s is chapter 1 introduction.Put forward the research significance and purpose of this topic,this paper introduces the guiding thought of it,named "organic renewal" theory,and by the analysis of the status of domestic and foreign related research,to summed up the historical and cultural blocks should follow the principles of integrity,the original true and diversity on the update;The second part is chapter 2.By the resources superiority of historical and cultural blocks of chongqing and the cultural characteristics is analyzed,it is concluded that the historical and cultural blocks of chongqing has the advantage of the rich diversity of its building,street spaces and the profundity of history and culture.At the same time,combined with domestic and foreign relevant cases,it is concluded that the openness ofthe historical and cultural blocks,culture and uniform texture of block is in an important position of historical and cultural blocks design;The third part of the paper’s is chapter 3 and 4.In Chapter 3,by the research on old buildings,streets,and the study of cultural resources of Huangjueya street,we can know that old street itselfs unique architectural style,as well as the historical and cultural streets space is an important material for design.Old buildings with brick structure and wood structure not only has a high value of natural landscape,but also has a very high cultural value,yi ma culture,hot pot culture,and the culture of the war of resistance against Japan is Huangjueya streets’ important culture resources.In Chapter 4,combining with the summary of design principles and characteristics of old street itself,I summarized the design principles,strategies,targets and methods,the "linear museum" design approach is proposed.Historical and cultural blocks is bearing the weight of the collective memory of city and the people,but also the carrier of urban development and change.By the analysis of material foundation,history and culture of Huangjueya street,it is concluded that the "organic renewal" of material basis combined with culture and history is a power source of historical and cultural blocks to keep the sustainable development.According to different historical and cultural blocks,the opportunities and challenges are also different.
