Nowadays, with the fast development of electronic commerce, express delivery service is becoming more and more important. Regardless of the promotion day of electronic company which known as‘Double 11' or the delivery of people's daily products, the delivery industry has already become a part of our life. However, the delivery industry in China also has a series of problems due to the imperfect development. These problems include the high rate of delayed, damaged and lost of the deliveries. The Chinese society is paying close attention to these issues in delivery industry. In addition, the express companies also face other problems such as the low level of mechanization and informatization, low service quality, high investment in human resource. These issues district the healthy development of delivery industry in China.Regarding the use of Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(SUAV) in delivery express, this project is a practical exploration of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) technology in commercial background. Recently, International network companies like Microsoft, Amazon and local express companies such as Shunfeng all reported using SUAV in sending and receiving deliveries. This is a practical exploration of UAV technology in a new area under commercial background. The reasonable planning and using SUAV could solving the problems such as delay, lost and damaged effectively in the delivery process. Moreover, it could also help to enhance the quality and efficiency of delivering and receiving service, and promote the technology level of the industry. Accordingly, The use of SUAV could bring benefits to both the express company and customer, effectively.This project would combine the research and analyze of express delivery service through different design research methods, includes secondary researches, questionnaire, interview, observation and imitation. To understand the express delivery process in main express company. In order to discuss the possibility of using UAV in current market, comparative analysis and case analysis are used to find out the main current problems and real needs of end-user. Based on the clear function module of the UAV delivering express system, to build a UAV express delivery system called ‘Small Flying Box' using SUAV technology. Moreover, the body of the aircraft and the express carrier box would be designed.
