The population of our planet is growing rapidly and by 2050 will exceed 9 billion people.In2008,for the first time in human history,more than half of the world’s population lived in cities,and by 2050,the share of the urban population may exceed 70%.Regardless of any factors,including the level of economic development and the current political system,ordinary residential housing has always been the predominant type of urban buildings.A wide range of factors,sometimes quite unexpected and totally unobvious,determine the vector of housing development in modern cities.One of the most important factors is transportation and the ways in which modern citizens interact with it.How will the housing of the mid-twenty-first century change under the influence of this factor? Which new types of transport will enter our daily lives? How will they affect our interaction with the city?In the current digital age,the skill of analyzing a variety of data becomes a priority for a modern architect,and the ability to make reliable forecasts and strategic planning has become a vital necessity.With dwindling resources,climate change and environmental pollution,we have no more room for any error.The method of developing scenarios allows not only to take a glance into the nearest future,but also to outline the preferred route that will help to achieve intended goals.This work is an attempt to find answers to the abovementioned questions using this method.The three presented Scenarios demonstrate potential changes in urban housing typology with the development of unmanned air transport and drone delivery.
