In recent years,private art museum in China is developing rapidly,but the private art museum exhibit leaping developmentbecause of the special national conditions in China.Coupled with the lack of relevant guidance and experience,many private art museumshave difficulties in exploration and development.In the development of private art museum in China,there are many new private art museums being built,and also many of them fall into a decline.One of the reasons is the lack of clear positioning and design referenceabout the private art museum.Therefore,this paper has practical significance to the research of its guidance and design method.In view of the fact,manycontemporaryprivate art museum buildingsin Chinaget higher awards frequently in the architecture circle.However,there is no theoretical research on private art museum in China.Therefore,through large number offield investigation and specific analysisabout a large numberof cases,this paperanalysestheir functions and streamlinesby the viewpointof visitors,managers and curators,andcombined with the necessary data collection and analysis,this paper explores the main contradiction in the private art museumdesign,analyses the design points and puts forward relevant design strategies.So it has theoretical research significance.This paper first makes a overview of the development of private art museum,analyzes the status and development trend,then clears all stages of development and characteristicsof private art museumin China.According to thenational situationand feature of background and literatures,this paper summarizes the current situation about the operation and development characteristics of the private art museum in China.In thefield surveying and informationcollecting of representativeprivate art museums,this papersummarizes and contrasts the datameasured in the exhibition space by the instrument.By analyzing the survey information in both macroscopic and microscopic,this paperfocuses on common problems and contradictions to grasp the key points in the design.Combined with the traditional art museum,thisstudy analyzes bothin general and detailprivate art museum design,and puts forward the main design strategies that can adapt to the contemporary artexhibition and the situation of our country according to the results of the investigation.After this,the design strategiesare applied to a practical project for feedback and improvement to grasp the core contradictions in design.It hopes that this paper can provide some reference for the design and research of private art museum in China in the future.
