Architectural Programing is an important process before detailed design of one project, which aims to ensure an efficient operation after the project is built and put into use. The pre-evaluation of architectural programing, on the other hand, is an essential guarantee of a rational and objective programming result. As architecture design getting more complex and requirement of clients getting stricter, the task architectural programming faces is becoming so complicated that sometimes computer should be involved as an auxiliary tool for making decisions. However, the ambiguous nature of architecture hinder a deeper cooperation between designer and computer. This thesis aims to introduce some basic principles of Space Syntax into the pre-evaluation of architectural programming, thus to create a process of quantitative evaluation of space. The paper is composed of two parts. In the first part, it discussed the general principles of space syntax, and analyzed the possibility of the combination between space syntax and architected programming. Then the paper talked about the adjustment of several detailed operation of space syntax in order to meet the requirement of a quantitative evaluation. After the adjustment, an operable workflow of quantitative evaluation can be built based on the operational framework of pre-evaluation. The second part mainly focused on a case study, testing the theory based on a practical example.
