Study Of City Village Reconstruction In Guang Zhou

Urban villages of Guangzhou share many common characteristics with those in other Chinese cities while they also have their own features because they are situated in mega-city Guangzhou.In 2009,Guangzhou initiated the "three old” transformation project,bringing the renovation and redevelopment of urban villages into a new era.This paper analyzes the relevant theories and experiences about city regeneration and urban villages redevelopment both home and abroad,expounds the status quo and detailed cases about urban villages in Guangzhou and other cities in China,in order to draw some experiences and explore the possibility to use these experiences in reality,and raise some empirical research.This paper is consisted of four parts,its main content is as follows:Part 1 Introduction:It introduces the background,purpose,and significance of urban village redevelopment,as well as the relevant research has been done and being done at home and abroad,research objects,research contents and research approaches.Part 2 Summarize current situations of urban villages redevelopment:First,it elaborates the causes,general situations and characteristics of urban villages,then describe the problems and opportunities that urban villages are facing,after that it analyzes the related cases about urban villages at home and abroad.Part 3 Analyzes situations of Guangzhou urban villages :First it introduces the geographical distribution of urban villages in Guangzhou and how they are formed,then expounds the reasons and ways to redevelop them,and difficulties during the process of redevelopment,after that,detail the situations of urban villages redevelopment in Guangzhou,including progress made and relevant cases.Part 4 selects Yagang Village in Guangzhou as study object,and analyses its status quo,problems and available resource situation.Section 5 comes up with a renovation strategy including the scope and partition of the renovation design as well as the specific content of landscape reconstruction.In the last section,this paper concludes the renovation design of Yagang Village.By discussing and summarizing the process,we hope the renovation strategy in this individual case can promote and consummate relevant methods and theories on urban village renovation,and relevant people can also take it as a reference.
