Full Life Cycle Management Of Owners' Construction Projects Research Based On BIM Technology

As the project getting larger and much more complex, the corresponding management works is much more difficult than before. They are often criticized for the poor quality, waste of resources and the poor efficiency result from the un-effective project management. The coming up of the Building Information Modeling(BIM) lay a great lot of changes on the construction industry. The project management model which based on the information supplies the owner with new management concept, technology and method.For now, the BIM technology has just begun to win its application in China. As the sponsor and leader of a project, the owner hasn't successfully bring the public eyes on how to apply the BIM technology on their project management. This paper choose the topic “Research on Owner's Project Management Based on BIM” so as to help the owner with the application of the BIM tech. It will help the owner improve the management model and enhance their management level, and all these are of great significance.Through quantity of literature review, this paper inspect the BIM application in China and around the world. Then, the concept along with the characteristic of Project Management and BIM is introduced. Through qualitative examination, the research “Research on Owner's Project Management Based on BIM” is conducted.The content of this paper is as follows:(1) Review of the owner's use of BIM in China and around the world. Figure out thetrend of BIM tech along with the key point & difficulty that China will confront inthe use and application of BIM tech. And then put forward the key issues related tothe Project Management based on the BIM.(2) The concept of the BIM is introduced systematically, and every party's use of BIM isinvestigated. Besides, the BIM use in the whole process of project management fromthe owner's view is also analyzed.(3) The four parts of owner's project management ie Project Information Management,Project Organization Management, Project Cost Management and ManagementProcessing Management, along with the other work contents are chosen to establishthe Project Management Model based on the BIM tech.The several main conclusions:(1) The owner's project management is the core part of a specific project. The owner(employer) play a leading role among all those parties participate in the project. Inevery different phase of the whole project, the management work is commencedmainly focus on the process, investment and quality so as to achieve the harmony ofthe whole project.(2) The BIM tech can help the owner(employer) commence their management work inthe whole process and multi-area of the project, so as to enhance the quality of theproject. The owner will definitely benefit the most from the BIM tech, however thereality is that the owner hasn't grasp this BIM tech and the subsequently applicationneed a further enhancement.(3) The following specific contents are studied in terms with the owner's projectmanagement based on the BIM tech: project coordinated management; theimplementation process of the project management based on the BIM tech; theapplication of BIM in the project cost and project progress.
