Now,village housing in cold region is always with a single building type and indistinctive green properties.With the rapid development of the local economy,it has attracted extensive attention of the whole national society.Compared to other building materials,timber structure has a lower energy consumption in the process of design,construction and using.Then,among various kinds of wood-based panel,OSB has been widely used as structural and decorative materials.It can be made by small dimension wood,thinning wood and waste wood.That shows OSB can solve the problem of lack of timber resources in our country.With a gradual recovery of timber building in China since the 20 th century,constructing more and more timber building will become an inevitable trend.This kind of new residential types and architectural form should be widely developed in village housing in cold region as well.Firstly,this paper finds some problems about plane form and building image of lots of village housing in cold region during a field research.After a series of relevant research,this paper establishes five design principles and proposes a scheme.This process discusses design process and design reasons from structure and plane.Furthermore,applying this scheme to cold region village housing has some obvious advantages such as green performance,low carbon,prefabricated building component and low cost.After proposed the scheme,this thesis continues deepen the design of structure system and connection node.The rationality of this structure system has also been demonstrated.Meanwhile,detailed design of the prefabricated components and the nodes between two components are important content of this thesis.According to the assembled components,the scheme also proposes a construction process.Furthermore,it designs energy saving technologies to adapt to the special climate in cold region.In order to validate the effect of energy saving,this thesis compares its thermal performance between insulation clay brick house and the scheme.Finally,this paper explored the spatial variability of the scheme.The structural elements,unit combination and facade color material all have the possibilities to change.It proves that the scheme has flexibility and strong adaptability both in space and appearance.Besides,in order to verify the public acceptance level of this scheme under the regional perspective,questionnaire research method have been used.Through the statistical analysis of the findings,the village housing scheme can really accepted by the public.This thesis advocates the village housing in cold region by using prefabricated folded-plate structure.It has meet the demand of rural residents in cold region and green design goals.Enriching the modern form of timber structure and enhancing the level of modern timber construction industrialization have made a foundation of the modern tim ber architecture modular production.And this kind of construction of village housing in cold region will provide a new way of thinking.
