The Enlightenment Of Environment Design From Traditional Academy To Primary And Secondary School Campus

Traditional academy existed as a unique academic research establishment in the ancient Chinese feudal era stretching over one thousand two hundred years.It served to house books and enable scholars to collate and revise masterpieces which gradually evolve to form a special kind of education method.It began in the Tang dynasty and was passed down to Song,Yuan,Ming till the Qing dynasty.As time progressed,the teaching method was not able to keep up with changing times and was eventually replaced by the modern education system.Traditional academy buildings are the most distinctive Chinese culture artifacts whereby the building architectural designs are infused with elegant and artistic conceptions to reflect the union of people and the environment with the pursuit of the"nature and humanity as one".The traditional academy's architecture embodies the Chinese cultural values and characteristics.It has a far-reaching influence and significance to the modern campus environment.Primary and secondary school is an important part in student's study and entertainment life.The campus environment is an important factor which affects the child's growth.This paper will discuss the traditional college's construction and environmental influences and compare with the modern school environment of primary and secondary school campus environmental design.
