Research On Modern Urban Space And Architectural Heritages On The East Bank Of Changchun Yitong River

Jilin-Changchun Railway Station,located on the East Bank of Yitong River,had become the traffic hub of Jilin and Changchun and one of the modern city frameworks of Changchun before the “Hsinking City Planning”.Due to system planning of Hsinking in Manchukuo Period later on,the East Bank of Yitong River was included in the new urban area under “Hsinking City Planning” and blended into the slum area and industrial development area based on the original Jilin-Changchun Railway Station.Therefore,the East Bank of Yitong River was an important part of the modern urban space of Changchun.This thesis is divided into four parts:The first part first introduced the reason to choose the topic as well as the background,purpose and significance of this research.Then it analyzed the research status of the relevant fields at home and abroad and defined the research scope,put forth research methods and finally worked out the framework of this thesis based on research ideas,laying the theoretical basis for further study.Starting with the formation and development of the East Bank of Yitong River,the second part introduced the development stages and functional composition of this area,reviewed the spatial evolution process and summarized all kinds of factors that affected its development,providing comprehensive historical basis for later in-depth study on the urban space and architectural forms of this area.The third part dissected the initial and modern urban space development status of the East Bank of Yitong River and made spatial analysis of the railway stations,industrial areas and residential areas in Jilin and Changchun.The fourth part summed up the major types of architectures in the East Bank area,such as station building,hospital building,residential building and industrial building,analyzed the representative buildings respectively and finally focused on the architectural forms,materials,techniques and cultures,studied the values of the heritage buildings on East Bank and proposed strategies for preservation and renovation.By field survey of modern architectural heritages on the East Bank of Yitong River and arrangement of the contents about the modern urban space forms and architectures on the East Bank,and based on systematic organization of the relevant historical data,this article conducted an in-depth study of the urban space and architectural forms of the East Bank,with a view to make up for the gaps in existing researches about the planning and construction of this area and deficiencies in existing researches about the modern urban space and architectural forms of Changchun City.
