The Chinese folk belief building is a self-contained type of architecture in traditional village.Currently the research has focused on the single building,but the building is not isolated but depends on Gods' system and ritual structure.Through exploring the relationship among Gods,rituals and folk belief buildings,this essay analyses architectural pedigree of folk belief.The essay briefs the research background and defines the concepts of Gods'system,ritual structure and architectural pedigree of folk beliefs.The body of essay is divided into two part with four chapters.The first part analyses the relationship between Gods' system and architectural pedigree of folk beliefs,and while the second part discusses the relationship between ritual structure and architectural pedigree of folk belief.The first part is divided into two chapters:the second chapter is a static analysis of the relationship between Gods' system and architectural pedigree of folk belief.With a core case of Linpu village,the relationship between Gods types,functions,beliefs circle,identity,scope,differential pattern and buildings are analyzed consecutively;the third chapter is a dynamic analysis between Gods'system and architectural pedigree of folk belief with a case of the transition of Qinjiang village before and after Majiang War.In conclusion,through the point of static relationship,the Gods' system determines folk belief buildings'function,their distribution and hierarchy.The folk belief buildings constitute a integrate pedigree with the Gods' system.In the pedigree,the main temple is set on the Feng Shui site as the landmark of the village,and while these area temples spread over the forks in each area,forming a stable spatial pattern.Through the point of dynamic relationship,the folk belief buildings remain the fixed pattern in some extent as the stability of Gods' system,and while change partly as the adjustment of Gods' system.The second part is divided into two chapters:the fourth chapter is a static analysis of the relationship between rituals structure and architectural pedigree of folk belief.With a core case of Qinjiang village,the relationship among buildings'scale,space,group,streets and rituals structure are analyzed consecutively;the fifth chapter is a dynamic analysis between rituals structure and architectural pedigree of folk belief.The transformation of architectural pedigree is detailed with the case of the transition of Qinjiang village before and after Majiang War.In conclusion,through the point of static relationship,the rituals structure determines the space and relationship of folk belief buildings and streets.The folk belief buildings and streets constitute a integrate pedigree with the rituals structure.In the pedigree,the main temple possesses the ruling position,and while all the temples have conjunction with each other in space.The streets not only connect the temples but also appear the hierarchy in themselves.Through the point of dynamic relationship,the transformation of rituals both change the architectural pedigree and adjust their own system.
