A Research Of Folk-custom Images In Qunemoy Traditional Vernacular Dwelling

Quemoy traditional vernacular dwelling is a important component element of Chinese traditional building culture,it’s a creation of Quemoy people shaping by the particular local environment,and a significant local cultural sight.But as time passing by,the Quemoy traditional vernacular dwelling is facing the crisis like leaving unused and collapse,the attachments like building ornaments and talismans are also reducing.Aim to passing on our traditional culture and protect cultural heritage,based on field survey,this paper analysis and investigated the Quemoy vernacular dwelling in combination with the theory and methods of history.architecture and aesthetics. First by analyzing the geographical location,physiognomy,strategic position,settlement pattern and religious belief,the paper try to restore the existing situations of Quemoy traditional vernacular dwelling,and start on aspects like building principles,ornaments and talismans to explain the cultural connotations and Quemoy local cultural features.There are many architectural details of dwelling buildings like spatial arrangement,ridge of the house,adjacent of window,stages and the respect of the left-side,these details shows the local inhabitants’ understanding and respecting to the natural and social environment,and their wishes to long-term order and peace;the rich kinds of ornaments carries the longing for safe,rich,more offspring,long life and the pursuit for official career;the great variety of talisman reflects the flourish of local religion.In conclusion,the Quemoy traditional vernacular dwelling has a significant historical and cultural value,it’s a carrier of Quemoy local culture and a great cultural heritage of our country.
