The Three Alleys and Seven Lanes District has become one of the top ten historic cultural districts in China and it is also one of the significant symbols that makes Fuzhou a historic city. The District was built up during the Period of Yongjia in Jin Dynasty and formed a certain scale in the Dynasties of Tang and Song, experienced a Golden Age in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The District hasn't been able to escape from the fate of demolition and reconstruction since China's Reform and Opening policy was published. Throughout urban architectural culture of contemporary China, a city loses its unique character while it is going through a modernity process. The development track of history and culture and the public identification of local culture and history have been recorded by ancient buildings, historic sites and historic districts. Regarding to the group of historic cultural architecture, it can be viewed from the perspective of architecture. Each ancient building would be protected and restored from the point of view of architecture specialty. And also, it can be viewed from the perspective of culture. The experience and identification of culture can be delivered through reviewing and revealing the history and culture of architectural space and the events of historic figures with the start point of protecting and exploring traditional culture.In addition, regional feature and sense of identification can be enhanced by emphasizing local folk custom. The historic cultural district can finally completely revealed out its historical value, cultural value, aesthetic value, social value and economic value etc.
