With the continuous development of the society, cities’ environment is getting worse and worse gradually. The distinctive features of the cities’ history and culture are fading away. At the same time, when people are pursuing the material life, the environment with more livability is needed. Urban greenway which originated from 20th century satisfies this need.As a linear space form, greenway can improve the cities’ green environment and establish the suitable, effective and human-based green gateway efficiently. Besides, it can connect the cities’ green belts through the ecological network, which can not be achieved by spotted single parks. These years, our country has got a tremendous development in greenway which is widely applied in Pearl River Delta. However, we are still at the beginning of the construction of greenway in general. The main design concepts and construction refer a lot for the foreign excellent cases. Especially the cities with special geological conditions need greenway to richen the cities’ environment. Due to that, there are more and more problems of cities’ ecological environment in these cities nowadays. Large areas of green lands don’t suit the landscape development of cities. Nevertheless, the greenway can improve these environment problems significantly. Therefore, aimed at the particularity of mountainous cities, it’s practical and necessary to do the research of greenway systems, which is worth referring to in later greenway’s construction.At present, the mountainous cities represented as Chongqing begin the greenway construction. Facing many problems, it is very important to choose the greenway which is truly suitable for mountainous cities. Now, there are not so many greenway’s post occupancy evaluationin mountainous cities, while it’s needed to attach the importance to it. As all mentioned, it has realistic meaning and necessity to do that.According to the organization if this essav. it explains the related concepts of mountainous cities’ greenway and the domestic and foreign development. Then it introduces POE’s related concepsts, including its idea and specific method. Next, according to the operability and practicality, it establishes the POE model of mountainous cities’ greenway and analyze it. The practical instance of this essay is Jiulongpo greenway in Chongqing. Through the establishment of POE of mountainous cities’ greenway, it does research of the Jiulongpo greenway’ POE in order to find its advantages and disadvantages so that it can provide some references for other mountainous cities greenway’s design. It does the research through participatory method, behavior observation, interview, document collection and analysis, questionnaire survey, scaling method, etc. The drawbacks are the scarcity of the kinds of plants, the unsuitable public facilities and so on. Then, aimed at the present weakness of Jiulongpo greenway, it raises up some advice for improvement as follo wings:to increase some convenient facilities and purchasing places in greenway areas, to enrich the distinctive mountain city’s landscape, to increase the special performances, to increase the barrier-free facilities, etc.At last, based on the analysis and conclusion of Jiulongpo greenway in Chongqing, this essay raises up the suggestions to the design and construction management of mountainous cities’ greenway. When plan the greenway, it is needed to combine the cultural features with landscape construction and emphasize on the humanization design so that turn the drawbacks of the mountainous terrain to benefits, which make the cities’ greenway more distinctive and satisfy the users’ need in order that it is convenient for citizens to visit.
