With the rapid development of urbanization, urban traffic is facing tremendous pressure, the development of urban subway has become an effective means to ease the pressure and the inevitable trend. At the same time of actively promoting the construction of the subway, study on underground space of the subway station has also made some achievements. But there is a lack of research on the psychological needs and behavior of users in the subway station space environment. The only achievements is lack of systematic analysis and summary of the user's behavior requirements. For the pursuit of the humanized design for the underground space and improve the usage rate of public space. This study intends to take the requirement of behavior as the starting point, using psychology, behavioral science and other related theories, through the field research and questionnaire survey for 10 subway stations in two cities, nanjing and suzhou, analyzing the main problems and causes of the space environment design. And then using Maslow's theory of needs hierarchy to construct a new model of needs hierarchy and learning design patterns, methods and technical means from developed regions, then put forward the corresponding strategy for elements of space station,to form operational design theory with different needs of different levels for the subway station public space and environment. In the end, this paper makes a study on Pengcheng Square Station of Xuzhou Metro Line 1. On the basis of the above research system, the paper puts forward relevant design proposals according to the specific circumstances of the station and provides new ideas and direction for the construction of other sites.
