As social and economic progress, the civil aviation industry has become one of the fastest growing industry. The sharp increase in aviation traffic requires the corresponding development and management of all aspects of civil aviation. The dense airports, huge flight flow, complicated airspace structure of Zhuhai terminal control area lead to serious problem of flight delays.Computer simulation technology is the most advanced capacity assessment technology. Compared with traditional methods, computer simulation based capacity assessment is closer to the actual operation, with higher speed, more applicability and convenient in data analysis. The mathematical model is not used as a major tool in the research, but computer simulation technology is boldly used to guide the practical work.The main purpose is to study the airspace optimization measures of Zhuhai Terminal Control Area. Shenzhen "Ping'an Financial Center" is constructed in Zhuhai TMA. Firstly, regression analysis based controller workload assessment is used to analyze the impact of this ultra-high building in Zhuhai TMA airspace capacity. Then combined with flight procedure design requirements and actual situation, an optimization program is proposed. Finally, the feasibility and the scientificity of the program are proven by computer simulation based validation. The simulation results show that the proposed optimization scheme can effectively improve the Zhuhai terminal airspace capacity, and is easy to be applied to practical work.
