Research On Styling-based Bus Shelter Of Yingze Street Based On Crossover Design

With the progress of social civilization, there is an increasing demand for products with cultural connotation, which leads to an urgent problem of allowing traditional elements accord with modern design. This paper aims to research on crossover design and make traditional elements integration with modern product design. However, there are few crossover design researches in this area, and they haven't formed a complete and systematical design method.In this paper, we creatively put forward a general process of product design based on crossover design. In the hope of forming a set of product-crossover design methods, we proposed the design method and successful principles of crossover design for this method. In addition, we put the Yingze street bus shelter styling design in Taiyuan as a living case. We used crossover design methods to make traditional elements more suitable to the modern environment,modern technology and modern people's aspiration. In the case of bus shelters,we verified the feasibility of product-crossover design methods, besides, we putforward a set of crossover design methods of traditional elements and modern product design.According to the product-crossover design methods, we derived a set of steps, principles, process and methods of crossover design between traditional elements and modern product design. Firstly, according to the process and methods, we analyzed the modern urban space, bus shelter and shelter users.What's more, we selected the Wang Family Compound as the crossover object.Secondly, according to the steps and principles, we analyzed and collected the traditional elements of Wang Family Compound. Under the method of “Simplify,Element reconstruction and Dimension transformation”, we redesigned the traditional elements. Finally, we spread our creation and drew sketch for Yingze street bus shelter styling design in Taiyuan with the redesigned traditional elements. We also modelled and rendered the final Design scheme.In the case of Yingze Avenue bus shelter styling design in Taiyuan, we used the method of product-crossover design. Crossover traditional elements such as lantern and jade belt patterns were collected from Wang Family Compound used in shelter modeling design after redesign. Additionally, combined with characteristics of modern urban space, features of bus shelters and modern people, we ultimately made traditional elements suitable for modern design product based on crossover design.The case of Yingze street bus shelter styling design in Taiyuan not only verifies the feasibility of product-crossover design method proposed in thispaper, but also comes up with a set of crossover methods of traditional elements in modern application. The method contains the processes, steps, principles and design methods of crossover design between traditional elements and modern product design, which can be a reference for future practices and researches in this area.
