Practice And Research Of City Public Facilities System Design

Urbanization has brought great changes in socio?economic, science and technology, industrial structure, spatial pattern, urban culture and people's life style. This trend calls for public facilities towards beauty city and smart city. However, the current public facilities are still in a periphery, broken status. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a systemic research on city public facilities' manufacture, operation management as well as a theory of concept classification, objective value, context structure, and design system.The present study is based on city public facilities' design practice for over ten years. In the resent paper, we first analyzed the natural demand of urban constructions' development, the self?demand of a better public facilities, and the consciously demand of design practice and research. Then we analyzed relative researches of both our country's and foreign country's. Through a comparison of city public facilities, city furniture and city public equipment's concepts and attributes, we proposed that, urban?life interaction system should consider the boundary between ‘People, Event, Scene, Object's inside and outside as interface, rather than the industrial or professional dividing as field edge. In line with this view, we completed a conceptual reconstruction of city public facilities' classification. Consequently, the thinking of city public facilities design return to the nature essence of design, that is, to create things for human's living. Through a compression of city public facilities design with normal product design, as well as a reflection of design values on design history and modern life, we pointed that, such design is the design for the people. Furthermore, we proposed that public facilities' design value chain should be extended both on the manufacture end and marketing end, thus constructing of a generalized design system. We analysis the proposed system's design element, level and constructer. We also analysis the system's present level, generate level and source level. We proposed that city public facilities are a design system that constructed of ontology system, epitaxial system, and upper system. The ontology system refers to urban cultural trend, product classification carding, and urban layout. The epitaxial system refers to design of manufacture process, product family genre, product identification and operation management. The upper system is mainly focus on user's need, design creation, design evaluation and industrial chain design from macro to micro, in an overall urban design's view.Finally, we proposed a people?oriented city public service product design from the following aspects:1) a designer?guided everyone design system concept,2) a multiple?level open city public facilities design system,3) a sharing system environment based on dual?brand marketing,4) an urban?live?demand?centered public facilities' classification and management.
