The Research Of Changyang County's Rural Cultural Space Unit

The rural space is referring to the social formation and cultural space which based on the traditional habits and customs since the ancient times, which elaborates the dualism of the rural space as the the carrier and also the crystallization of rural culture. Unfortunately, the former has drawn more attention than the latter, which results in the transformation of rural cultural order or the decline of rural cultural value and exacerbates the decadence of the rural space in turn. The description above indicates the urgency of the study about the rural space from the cultural perspective. Meanwhile, with the Changyang “ The Thirteenth Five Year” planning proposed, the cultural stratedies of “The Cradle of Tujia, The Back Garden of Yichang, and The Representative Low-carbon Area ” prompt to the reconstruction of rural space, and the social and cultural construction, the cultural industry development and the building of the “Beautiful Countryside” demand the systematic analysis of the rural cultural space to explore its nature and value. Therefore, the paper makes some researches on the analytical method of the rural cultural space and the application to the rural planning, and put forward a new theory of the “rural cultural space unit” and its recognition methods.On the first, the paper begins with the the interpretation of the rural cultural space,including the concept, component elements, inscape and development logic and clarifies the necessity of the introduction of the rural cultural space unit as the middle transition to combine the rural cultural space and its component elements and the the analytical method for the rural cultural space, which contributes to the translation of the complex problems about the rural cultural space into a series of relatively simple problems and the hamony of the physical and social nature by the rural cultural space unit.(The Chapter 3)Second, the paper proposes the rural cultural space unit according to the study of the rural cultural space above and the concept of “unit”,which contains the definition, the characters of “typehood” and “hierarchy” and the development logic of intrinsic “component elements” and extrinsic “structure”. The recognition would promote the study on the rural cultural resource and the the rural cultural space,which could be the instructions for the cultural industry development, the cultural tourism and the building of the “Beautiful Countryside”.(The Chapter 5)However, the study conducted in the paper aims to solve the cultural problems occurring in the rural cultural space and the proposal of “rural cultural space unit” including the theory, method and application would deepen and enrich the rural planning, which is of great academic and operative value.
